So Cal Suspension Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Has anybody heard about the SoCal gangs invading Glamis and jacking people for their bikes,RVs and other toys, My cop budddy was telling me about this tonight, he said it is getting to be a real problem down there. Anybody have any feedback or stories to tell? People have always been getting their shit stolen at glamis. I've never locked anything up at my camp. Then again, our camp is about 15-20 MoHo's or toyhaulers. As far as "gangs" go, I doubt that gang bangers are out to jack your 1997 kx 125, so they can part it out, and make a few bucks. As dumb as gang members are, they're not really in the business of parting out RV's, or bikes. I've never heard of a "problem" though. There's always trouble makers everywhere you go, but 99.999% of the people that are there are there to have a good time. I've been going to glamis since I was about 6 months old, and honestly, the only thing I've noticed changing, is there are more people out there in general, which means there will be more people up to no good. Most of the thefts are of coolers, or bbq's. I have a few buddies that work for BLM, and they usually only have one or two theft reports a weekend. Which isn't too bad, considering on a busy weekend you could have over 200,000 people out there. I wouldn't be worried. If your bikes aren't insured, just lock them up. If you're really worried, keep your coolers and bbq's in your trailer, and you'll be good. We leave camp sometimes for 6-8 hours, and never once have I worried that my things were going to get stolen. Quote

jon321 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 One time, my wife attacked the neighbor kid with a dong the size of my arm. Believe it or not she could cram three of these bad boys in her. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I'll shoot a motherfucker. If you ever see me in person, better believe I have my Glock 26 on my side.. Quote
crustydemon Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I prefer to kill with my bare hands, it's more personal that way. Quote
ban99 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 As Matt said, been going there for years and never had a thing stolen, however we always lock our stuff up, especially at night. We are almost always down at Buttercup which tends to be more laid back so I can't directly compare it to Glamis. Again as Matt already stated you will always have a bad element when that many people gather but they are in the extreme minority and knowing how many people pack heat down there one would be crazy to go into someone elses camp to steel shit. bansheesrtoys Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 i rather tie a rope around their ankles and drag them behide my banshee for awhile. Quote
Badbar88 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I have to agree with you guys, I'm going on 28 years of reguler Glamis trips and never had a single thing stolen. I always run a cable lock through my toys and gas cans. The bad element has gotten worse in the last 10 years or so but with all the added BLM and Sherriff presence, it seems to be getting mello again. There was a point where going out to Comp. or Olds. Hill to party at night was shitty unless you had a decent size crew with you. I ran across (on lots of occasions) gangs actually "banging" out there and hittin people up about "where their from". I haven't seen that in quit a while thanks to the "Man" crackin down. 10 years ago or so, we got in fights pretty regulerly due to assholes harrassing the girls that were with us or just lookin to get into some shit, which after some Crown Royal we were more then happy to help them out. All in all it's still my favorite place on earth so if you haven't been to Glamis, GO. Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I wouldnt hesitate to shoot someone if they were a threat to me or stealing my stuff in my place , i have a CCW permit and been wanting to use it to mark up my first confirmed kill, so I say come on steal my shit I dare ya,, anyway carry on. Your Oregon CCW permit isn't recognized in CA, just FYI. Sometimes we go for "rambo rides". We all sling our AR-15's behind our backs, and go riding through people's camps. It's pretty awesome. ...Kidding... Quote

DallasGDub Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I do not care where I am at or who I am around, I always make sure my stuff is secure and keep both eyes open for suspects. I have been robbed a few times it was by someone who knew me. Quote
