New ITP Rims on GNCC ITP tires K&N internal filter with K&N filter lid + outerware Toomey T6 pipes Full Skids T&M case saver Toomey Sparkies 6 Pack Rack Front Bumper. Cobra Nerf bars Now, I need some front shocks - Stock ones are crap! Edited October 1, 2010 by VooDooBanshee Quote
superswire Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Sweet banshee...looks real clean... I'd check the jetting, grease and oil everything, change the oil, put a 4 degree timing advance on, vf3 reeds, hd clutch springs, billet impeller, engine ice, deck and reshape the stock head/domes for some better compression and ride the crap out of it...but thats just me...you're going to get a zillion opinions. If you plan on any porting id swap out the pipes for some t-5 Good idea on the shocks, noone like shocks that fade to pogo sticks when your romping on them... Best of luck with it, cant wait to see what you do with it, i love watching these things become customs... Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Looks good man, cant beat the black bikes. I say grab a adj timing plate and set it at +4. Grab a Noss or Chariot head. (domes depend on your altitude and the octane of fuel you want to use) Then when you ready to send the cylinders out, get it ported to the style you want. Huge jump in power with all 3. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Nice lookin bike you got there! Quote
VooDooBanshee Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks guys! Yeah, there is still paint on the bolts from the factory, so this thing has not been ridden a lot... A few questions: *Can I run the +4 timing with a stock head and stock motor? Will this cause any problems or longevity issues? *I line in IL, so I think I am at sea level. What domes for 93 octane? *I changed all the fluids already, just used Honda coolant. Ran this in all my 4 strokes with no problems over the years... *Jetting seems right. Thing fires over in 1 kick and after it warms up a little, it rips with no problems through the gears and power band. They guy did give me a bag of jets with it, which was cool! *Compression on both cylinders is 120 PSI on the button. What I am saying is when she gets tired, I will do some porting and boring. Right now I don't want to rip into a fresh motor. Guess the timing plate would be a good edition? Thx- Quote

06specialedition Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Sick shee! Those black ones are sweet Quote
VooDooBanshee Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 OK, if I do the +4 timing plate, will I need to re-jet or mess with any fuel related stuff? It's just that this thing is set up perfect, and it runs great! I know it's just spark, so i don't think I will... Any isses with the +4 plates? Quote
lms1977 Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 If you like it the way it is don't mess with it. Everyone needs a different quad or amount of power to have fun. I ride trails real tight rocky ones and don't need 70hp. My buddies ride 400ex quads and think there perfect for what we do. The mods that everyone is suggesting are great safe mods (reliabilty will be great) but if you dont feel you need them ride as it is and have fun. Quote

X3, Everyone has their opinion on their bikes, but SAVAGE is right on, with those 3 upgrades. Each will increase the HP significantly, and for the money, great bang for the buck. Quote
MILO Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 I'm not going to say that mine is 'the best' set up for trails but it is wicked fast for trail riding. here's the basics - bored .020 over, HJR aggressive trail port, 4 mil long rod stroker crank, Noss head w/ custom cut domes, + 4 advance, V3's, open air box w/Pro Design filters, Pro Circuit pipes. All of it together kicks ass over the stock set up & is awesome for ripping around the trails. That black Banshee looks really cool bud. Quote
bansheesrtoys Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 i ride tight trails and sandy whoops, i done as far as motor , +4 mil stoker with 110 rods, cool head with 19cc domes,20 over stock wisco prolite pistons, V3's,reed spacers, toomey 2 into 1 air filterwith k&n filter, stock carbs, T5's, and a boost bottle, high flow impeller, temp gauge. i run 100 race fuel, and a P E clutch basket. for suspension i did+2+1 a-arms, elka stage 3 front shocks, -2 swing-arm with round house carrier, stock axle, honda sporket holder from LSR to run a 38 rear, 15 front, casesaver, this thing hauls ass though the woods and over whoops, i haven't found a four storke yet i couldn't catch and pass on a trail yet. and if you still have a thumb thottle get a longer on from cascade it really helps your thumb for those long rides Quote
