ATVDRA Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 anyone I have ran his transmissions both with and without and never had a problem either way, the point in having the spring is to keep it from jumping into 1st gear while your not expecting it. Quote

You would be better off putting a spring in to launch the whole trans into the swamp. IMO Edited August 1, 2010 by SlowerThanYou Quote

SlowerThanYou Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Not a fan of WCR or just don't like the 1-6? Not a fan at all of his POS 1-4 and a 1-6. I don't know what's worse, his customer service/lies or his transmissions. #1 trans 1-6, didn't hold up to the first launch. #2 trans 1-6 would shift into 4th gear. #3 trans 1-6 would go into 4th gear. He ask me how many runs was on it and I stated 4 and told him I was leaving for the Wicked Race. He said it would be fine, but he would build me a back up #4 trans 1-4. Hauled it 2,300 miles back East. Put 3 more runs on #3 trans 1-6 and it wouldn't shift into 4th. So, Skip and I decide to put in trans #4 1-4. Should have known better another POS. We used some backyard machining and fixed the problem. I forgot he was supposed to call us back to help us figure out the problem with #4. Guess what, 2 years later and still no phone call. LOL Anyway, Trans #4 is still working, but no thanks to WCR. Now, for trans #3 that wouldn't shift into 4th. I did some machine work and got it to shift into 4th. We found another problem with #3 trans it eats the front single shift fork in about 20 runs. So, with around 30 total runs on #3 trans 1-6 his transmissions are still a POS. This is how we ride our quad at the track. We push it everywhere with a 150cc scooter. It gets pushed to start line, we make a full throttle run, it come to a complete stop/shut the motor off, down shifted and finally pushed back to the pits. BK Quote
stroking Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) i thought WCR was the BEST!!! at cutting trannys.......BUT!! i have helped some one with a 1-5 nd 1-6 standrad n and a micro polished nd 1-5 and ALL have trouble shifting under a load!! THE 1-6 also falls off the pipe badly everytime you go into 6th gear, its like the 6th gear is to tall,i dont know if he change the ratio or something but it falls of hard in 6th. also got a 1-4 m 5-6 that wont shift at all some times then other times it shifts fine who else cuts good 1-5 ?? stroking Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 its on alky and have bigger bowls with two power jets. its a feeling like your shifting from 1st straight in 4th when you go from 5th to 6th.......almost like its missing a gear in between 5-6 may just be those vito cylinders are just not keep the motor in the pipe Quote
dajogejr Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 do you cut trannys ? Kevin Herr (HJR), Jeff W. (FAST) and Andy (M&M) all sell override transmissions and have sold a lot of them. And they are all site sponsors. Hit them up and talk to them. I do believe Andy is out of town for a wedding right now for a few days, but I believe you can PM him and he'll get it on his phone and can respond. Quote
sleeper06 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Robinson transmissions does all the trannies by me hes local and does all my streety bike shit,(bullet proof).I had similar problems with wcr,its like he didnt do nice machine work .I had to chuck the drum in my rotary table and remachine some transitional areas so the forks would not hang up.I have a 1-4 5th,6th clutch in 4 bikes I have built from wcr,I havnt had issues with any yet after small mods but my next tranny will be a robinson 1-6 Quote

Just because they sell them, doesn't mean they cut them. Quote
