pr0blumz Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Any ideas/tricks to fix the exhaust leak? I just put some new FMF pipe ring seals in and NOTHING high temp rtv or something? Use high-temp rtv glue. Put a nice layer on both flanges but don't get carried away, install the pipes, and let it cure for 24 hrs. Quote
mofoka Posted June 1, 2010 Author Report Posted June 1, 2010 Use high-temp rtv glue. Put a nice layer on both flanges but don't get carried away, install the pipes, and let it cure for 24 hrs. i've used high temp for heads and other things that seal on to a block but i don't remember them calling it a glue. Are they the same or should I be looking for something special? Quote
Fullthrottle02 Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 i assume your talking about where the head pipe meets the cylinders? i have always double o-ringed mine. 1 set installs within the pipes like normal the other set slides on the exhaust flange ahead of the pipe. Quote

Yeah, but the mid pipe seals are leaking too. any tips on that? Quote
Fullthrottle02 Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Silicone blows out pretty easy at the mid pipe. If you dont have the oem rubber clamps to use, O'reilly's has high temp rubber hose you can buy by the foot. The stuff i have used in the past is by Gates #24016 vulco hose. Has always worked for me in the past. Quote
mofoka Posted June 1, 2010 Author Report Posted June 1, 2010 i've got the stockers on there now but I like your rad hose idea. I should get a fresh tube of rtv for when I repack my pipes too. Quote

FrankieSquid Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I had that same annoying problem. Where it meets the cylinders i just cleaned them really well and replace the o-rings, placed new springs. As for where it connects to silencer i used a blue silicone hose and i have not had any issues of that black shit coming out. Quote
