chetgoff Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 hey guys trying to figure out what ratio to run in the bike. the guy i got it from said he mixed 4 gallons of gas to a bottle of oil. the bottle said it was for 5 gallons of oil. so what do you guys think would be good. the jetting is pretty good with the mixture he was running. if i went 5 gallons would it lean it out to much? broncbob Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Kim from K&T recommends 3 ounces of Klotz R-50 to one gallon of gas, or in your case the would 15 ounces to 5 gallons of gas. This is just a shade over 40:1, if you want to run 40:1, it's 16 ounces per 5 gallons. Here is a link http://texhomatrialsclub.com/public_files/TXTC_premix_table.pdf Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 yea i run klotz at 40:1. its about 15 or 16 ounces to 5 gallons of gas. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I have the best luck with 32:1 which is 4oz of oil to 1 gal of gas...... or 20 oz of oil to 5 gals of gas. Quote

The more oil you have the leaner you are,the less oil you have the richer you are.If you have more oil mixed with your fuel then there will be less fuel in your cylinder causing it to be leaner. firebanshee Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) More oil is rich less is lean NO it is NOT.If you have more oil in your cylinder then you have less room for fuel therefore it means you are leaner on your fuel mixture.More oil is lean, less oil is richer! Dont you mean more fuel to AIR in the intake is rich. And lean is having less fuel per volume of AIR. So your saying 50:1 is richer then 32:1?? Quote

Yes,because there would be more fuel molecules in the mixture at 50:1 then 32:1.You would have more oil and less fuel at 32:1 Edited May 11, 2010 by firebanshee Quote

I ,thought you where confusing oil with air, but you are absolutely wright . Quote
