I am thinking about doing some keihin 28MM on my bike, but not sure what is a good carb outside of lectron, I dont what the cost of them and the finicky tuning issues.

I have stocks now, but want to take a step up with some carbs but not go crazy. let me hear some recommendations guys.....

Keihin 28 pwk's are always a great choice. Especially if your build consists of bolt on parts. They'll give a nice performance boost. I just happened to list a set with throttle cable on ebay. Just search "keihin banshee pwk".

i wouldnt bother going from the stock 26mm to 28mm. i would go with the keihin 33mm pwk. that way if you ever decide to build a 4mm motor, you can use them for it. i think the 33's would compliment your mods well and would really shine with a 4mm set up.

I wouldn't go over 30mm with the Pro Circuits. If you do go bigger there are several guys that run the 30 oko's even with +4 & CPI's. If you like the power range of your Pro Circuits and plan on keeping them 28 PWK's are perfect for you.

I am going to more than likely keep the setup I have now, if I do a 4MM it wont be for a while. I love my pro circuits, CPI is a thought for the future but ATM, the pros are perfect for what I am doing.

so, 28 or 30MM?

and what is the difference between the screw top kei's and the plate top? I seen both styles but more of the screw top (resemble stock style tops)

There really isn't a difference.

PWK28 have the flat plate with philips screws.

Pwk33's and on up have the screw on carb cap. You can't get keihin pwk28's with a screw on cap.

perfect, I was not sure of the differance, as long as 33's will work with a mainly stock engine, I may just go that route, just for room to grow later in life.

36mm lectrons. fbg OR packard gas easy to switch to alky later if you ever want to.

if your blind to lectrons, 35.5 AIR STRYKER pwk's are nice also

I would run a 28-30mm carb. Mikuni TM or Keihin PWK with your setup. Your bike would benefit more in the midrange if you ran some low or mid tension reeds compared to the vf3's. There should be no difference in top end between the bolt on reeds and the vf3's with those pipes your running. You can run a lot more compression also, especially since your running race gas.

If you plan on running those pipes indefinitely dont go over a 30mm carb.

lastly then, what should my jets be with kiehins? with my current setup, I guess I can dump the VF3's I put them in because they were better than stock.

I will post them up in the for sale section, I am going to keep my pro circuits, the have done me well in the past.

the only thing that is changing on my bike now is, well, the bike, I have upgraded to an 02, but am moving everything over to the new one, except the carbs, they are going to be upgraded to the kiehins
