bakersfieldturbo Posted December 27, 2009 Author Report Posted December 27, 2009 I don't know the specs on a Trinity stage 3 port job, but my guess would be you can get more aggressive porting out of them with another builder. You have a nice foundation with all the bolt on's, but if you like to drag and want to go faster you'll need aggressive dune/drag porting for CPI or Shearer pipes and bigger carbs. yeah i was thinking about going to jeff at fast.. cause i hear he does really good work .. bbcmudtruck Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 I have a 4mil dune port from Jeff that flat out boogies. Call him up and talk it over with him. He can point you in the right direction. Quote

bbcmudtruck Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 His screen name on here is FASTOYS and his shop number is 785-364-5325. You should talk to him before you buy any parts. You might want to build a completely different motor. Like a 4mil motor or different type of portwork. Quote
GrMeyer Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I could see shaving the flywheel if your racing. But when you shave it your going to lose the weight of the wheel when your dropping the clutch which will have lose in bottom end launching. It might rev out a tad faster. If you know someone with a lath, they can cut some off for you but wouldnt cut much. But I would have to say, go for the dual carb set up and lose the single carb set up. or find around a 40mm carb to put on that intake. Quote
firebanshee Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 One of the BEST mods you could do is get a duneable override trans. You can gain alot of bike lenghts by being able to shift without letting of the throttle without adding any more power. There are alot of guys running them on there bikes and if you race them and don't have one you are at a huge disadvantage. It is one of the best mods i ever did to my bike. You could also run a lockup clutch if you had one. I got mine from Redine racing and love it. You can get one for around $400. Quote

FASTOYS Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Bakersfield, there are alot of opinions out there and some will make you faster and some will not. Give me a call and i will gladly point you in the right direction. IMO, do NOT lighten the flywheel, Do NOT go lockup with the motor you have, Do get some different porting. We now carry the Dunable Extreme Override Trannies that can be rode just like a stock tranny. Call for details. F.A.S.T. Jeff Quote
jbooker82 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 I would ditch Trinity Stage 99 cylinders if they had them. Talk with jeff at fast. A F.A.S.T 4mill with 33 or 35mm PWK's and CPI's is a great build. I had a lightend flywheel and traded it for a stock one. I didn't like how it felt launching. It made it super easy to bog off the line. Josh Quote
