Patsy Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 I just spilt my cases to remove the clutch pushrod because it mushroomed like crazy. What kind of sealant can I pick up at AutoZone when I put it back together tonight? Any tips on amount of sealant or where NOT to put it. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything.........maybe I'll try liquid gasket..... Thanks, Quote
toddyfresh Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 I used yamabond from my local atv store. Threebond is also good. Not sure if autozone would carry the right stuff. Quote
jbooker82 Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Yea you need to use the correct sealant. Regular form a gasket, rtv, or ultra coper, black sealer wont work. Yambond 4, honda bond, threebond, or permitex Moto Seal. If your looking at a car parts place, Moto Seal is probably goign to be your best bet because it is made by permitex. 1 Quote

Koolguyson Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Hondabond, yamabond, suzukibond all set up too quickly. Threebond 1211 is best. 1 Quote
Sandmaniac Posted March 9, 2020 Report Posted March 9, 2020 (edited) What is the grey version of Three Bond for cases...I have a tube of 1211, but I seem to remember the last time I used a Banshee case gasket maker (sealer) was maybe Three Bond 1209 maybe or 1204, it was grey I believe...1211 is white...after almost 17 years since I've split the cases, I'm splitting them again to build a 421...any suggestions?
