1990civic-si Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 My bike before i left my home has a very stupid problem , first i figured wow must be the spark plugs sure enough there were no spark but the plugs were just bought br8es from ngk as was origionally there . my buddy thank god told me about this plug under the tank he said he had the same problem unplugged it to see what happened and it started for me . i did the same and what did ya know i had spark but now i now it was the plug for the sensors in the throttle over ride system or most people say tors . I was excited to know i was going to go for a ride seeing the bike had been stored for over a year . kick kick kick kick .... nothing had spark but nothing . i figured has to be the carbs so i took em apart done everything by the book 2 turns out 3rd notch i believe it was from factory and blew out the carb with 100psi of pressure ! figured that would work nope i was fooled again . after this i ripped out the reeds boots gaskets air box carbs again , bought a rebuild kit of the carbs 100$ for that from royal distributing put it together and same result . i was fed up so i was watching videos on davids farm on how he starts old cars with gas into the carb / spray it in , i tried this and the bike ran and after keeping on spraying it stayed going and i got a ride out of the bike but it didnt want to have the choke off cause it would put and bang and try to stall . next day same thing just that it would not stay going by its self only if i keep spraying . please help me im still wondering what it is so i cen send home parts to have it working again . http://www.youtube.com/user/2006421Banshee#p/a/u/2/RcQCrik-TS0 me trying to start yes its obvious it will start on spray but its still a brand new bike it always started no matter what for me Quote
badjetman23 Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 air screws should be at 1.5 turns u should do a compression test and see where yout at and also check your syncronization of the carbs what is your set up pipes jets other bolt ons we need all this stuff to help Quote

99bansheeboy Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 balance tubes arent connected i had the exact same problem Quote
White97Banshee Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Isn't 24:1 really rich for a semi synthetic premix oil? Also either patch up that crack on the intake or get a new boot, or it might come back to bite you in the ass later. I had the same deal and it caused my top end to go boom! Quote
theoriginal87 Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 first off you need to take off the tors and throw it as far as u can and get a removal kit... and the spraying tells u its a carb/ fuel issue so i would start by checking your float levels (had the same problem if i turned the fuel on it just flood right off the bat but if sprayed gas r turned the gas off and drained most of the fuel from the carbs it would start.) also what is your needle clip position?? should be in the middle or stock position.. i would try most of this if u havnt already and if nothing do a comp and leakdown test.... cant hurt. NAILED ITT fuck the TORS... check the float level and where the needle clip is and where its positioned "theoriginal87" and i have gone through the same problems... lol Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 Check to make sure there is a little black rubber hose connected between the carbs. It is called the choke tube. Quote
