Clymer's says you should remove the top end before pulling the motor. It would be much easy to remove the top end with the motor out so what does everyone do? Pull the motor with the top end on or off or can you not get the motor out with the top end on?

If you're trying to remove the whole motor, take the tank off first. It will be a lot easier. No need to remove the top end.

leave the top end.. pull the front plastic and tank. take off pipes. remove all the coolant lines, carbs, electrical lines, and chain.. 4 bolts. front back and 2 on the bottom. yank it out.
