Oddly enough me and T-shee are having a problem with our backup beater a 1996 yamaha warrior. The quad was running, it had to be pull started most of the time, but would bog at random, sometimes die. Cleaned and rejetted the carb, still no luck. It sat for a few weeks now it wont start. Compression is at 130psi, the plug is wet(and brand new). The timing is perfect, the spark is nice and blue. I couldnt get the needle jet to come out so it was not inspected, even with a total blockage, it should still hit after I put gas in the cylinder. Is there something I am missing? I thought maybe something electrical, but the spark is good? I know this is a banshee forum but a lot of people here are really knowledgable when it comes to anything with a motor.

sounds flooded. i'ts in the carb. how old is the gas? how far out is the fuelscrew? my friends' bruin was like that, and it was the fuelscrew backed out somehow. took a bit to get the fuel cleaned out, and runs like a champ now. did you clean out the airjet and passages? try to get that needle jet out. if it's stuck, then there is probably a bit of corrosion holding it, which could block the air, making it suck strait gas, instead of emulsifying. also, check floatheight/needle/seat.

Sounds like a typical electrical issue. CDIs will do this for sure so you may want to swap with someone to try. Also, check ALL connections around the battery. They have several that are prone to issues. Also make sure the engine is tight in the chassis so there is a good ground reference from engine the chassis. Also, wires are common to get abraised in the harness from the stator coming out of the motor. Check all of that. If it cuts out like a light switch, bet on electrical.

Also, those too have the parking brake switch and that could be doing it. make sure it is adjusted right or deleted.

Will give both a shot, I just cant figure out why it wouldnt hit when gas was put directley in the cylinder.

Liquid fuel does not like to light up like a vapor will. It is possible you were just snuffing the spark. Might try some spray carb cleaner and see if it will try to light on that. Also, a comp test is much more helpful on a thumper because it will tell if you your cam chain has slipped or something. Low numbers can go many directions but at least if all cards are lined up, you will get good comp out of them. Bent valve don't pump up compression very well.......

jetting has to be close to spot on or it won't run.. what mods are done to it?

It has a K and N filter...thats it. I didnt know how finicy the jetting was. What do you think it should be jetted at....I know you have a warrior.

Stator..

Stator,

Stator !

did I mention it could be the stator?

Get the service manual out and check specs, I'll almost guarantee your trigger coil is just barely out of specs. The warrior is notorious for this...
