VegasJeff Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 http://twostrokemotocross.com/2009/06/two-...es-strike-back/ I wont hold my breath on the return of the two stroke,it would be nice though. Quote
BSHEE400 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 that's a cool and interesting article, it may not happen but it would be awesome if it did  Quote
BenBB Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I thought that TSS motor looked kinda familiar  Quote
billybobby Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 The tech is there, I think the biggest prob is the fact that 2 strokes are not even really looked at for MX anymore. If the AMA will grow some sac and level the playing feild for us I think quite a few riders would ride a 250 two stroke over a 250 4 stroke. The other issue the manufacture's are making way more on these four strokes then the two strokes more parts equals more repair costs, bikes get replaced quicker. If the AMA allows 250 vs 250 mark my words Yamaha would have to make a new Bansh. I to will keep my keep my fingers crossed. The AMA is a bunch of gay homo's currently. Quote
Huey73 Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 That article only deals with orbitals direct injection. I'm a marine tech that deals with both Mercury(orbital) and Evinrude(E-tec). I'll lay my money on only the E-tec. It's a much simpler design and reliability isn't a question. Orbital uses an air compressor and E-tec uses a magnet like a speaker. Both are computer controlled which makes modification easy if you can program the maps!BRP has already transferred this technology to their snowmobiles. I can't wait for the future. If they bring out an ATV I'm there in line! Quote
J.J. Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 I thought that TSS motor looked kinda familiar  73mm Cheetah on RZ/Banshee cases, I like the concept of the TTS 90Deg crank, gives a "reduction of peak rocking-couple forces of 31%" + the Big Bang concept. Wonder how effective the 90Deg crank will be in an off-road situation. The TTS bike looks like a lotta fun, although 115HP isn't exactly earth shattering... I want one. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Very long article, but very good. Always interesting to see how they are trying to build a future 2 stroke. Quote
dragbanshee Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 1st bike was a tripple 500 kaw, then upgraded to a 750 tripple, Wow, those were some good ol bikes. It was an interesting article, thanks! Quote

I'd love to ride that bike, I bet it's smooth as butter and torquey as a tractor... Quote

bansheebarnes Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 i can see this happening in sport bikes (excluding the united states) it would take a long time before this technology trickled down the atv world. they always get hand-me-down tech from dirt bikes/street bikes and snowmobiles. Quote
