got my Ass kicked today fellas

Recommended Posts

First of all i just bought my first shee about 2months ago. it came with the fmf pipe with the silencers no tors and everyting else pretty much stock. Now i came across a 2007 suzuki 450r lt. he's one of my riding buddies. well when we raced on the dirt i took him about 1st through 4th gear and when he hit his 4th gear he was like 3 bikes ahead of me. Basically got my ass kicked. That four stroke is quick and its stock. what mods can i begin with fellas so i can at least keep up with him. i havent lost hope cause i know these two strokes have potential. im racing a predator tomorrow see how that goes. lol. I managed to whip a honda 250r and a honda 450r so my hopes aint gone. Thanks guys for any feed back

cool head, reeds, intake, jetting

cooling heads wont help unless you up the compression, reeds help throttle response, and his jetting might already be ok.

So anyways, assuming you can drive the bike as best as possible AND you have traction, get a port job. It's the best bang for the buck.

Buy an ajustable timing plate and put on +4, replace front sprocket from a 14 tooth to a 13. You will gain out of the hole and loose a little on the top end.

he is racing on dirt if he switches sprockets he should go up to gain more top end and hold with him a little bit longer in the upper gears but if you want to beat him get him go to a sand hill buy paddles and drag up that climbing hills is were 2 strokes shine (and hill climbing is where you MIGHT want to switch down a sprocket so you can pull a higher gear up the hill)

my father has an ltr450. they are geared pretty tall in stock form. try a fifteen tooth up front first. its the cheapest thing to do. i did it to a banshee i had a few years back, took off in first and was killing my buddies and i had stock carbs.

Well looks like im gonna go ahead and order up a sprocket to up my top end a bit. im gonna start with the 20cc cool head, Trinity reeds, adjustable timing plate. But im probably gonna go talk with my local Shop to see about their porting jobs they have. then go about better carbs. Man thanks a lot fellas for the tremendous quick feedback, I will keep you updated after my mods are done. THANKS!
