Black01Shee Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 I got my trail tech vapor computer today i cant seem to figure out how to install the speed sensor/magnet thing. I did some searching already but cant find any solid answers can someone direct me step by step please. Thanks Quote
Rodneya Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 The tiny little magnet is only used if you want to glue it on. Take the front hub off and remove one of the bolts that hold the disk on and put the magnetic bolt in there. Don't over tighten. Drill a hole for the cable sensor through the thin metal brake guard and install the sensor and route the cable up the brake line and behind the rad. Use locktite and don't over tighten anything it will break. Quote
Black01Shee Posted May 24, 2009 Author Report Posted May 24, 2009 Ok i also ran into another problem, the rpm sensor is not reading correctly at above 6000 rpm it just jumps back down to like 4000 and becomes inaccurate. Im running BR8ES plugs and have the rpm wire wounded 10 times tightly around the spark plug wire by the spark plug. Quote
Rodneya Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Try wrapping it less times. Mine is only 5 wraps. Some guys on here have just taped the wire straight against the plug wire without wrapping. Dont forget to set the PPR to 2 Quote

Black01Shee Posted May 26, 2009 Author Report Posted May 26, 2009 Got it all figured out, after 10 wraps of the wire was no good tried 5 still the same problem, then i tried 2 and now it works perfectly. I also had to calibrate the speed and i did so by holding a gps while im riding and comparing the speeds. after several adjustemnts to the wheel size the right number for the stock front tire turned out to be 1490 if anyone needs to know. tbcustomz Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 So it doesnt come with a mount for the speedo sensor? On the website it looked like it came with a metal bracket that bolted on to the spindle. You have to use the brake shield? I dont run those anymore. Quote
