there is no need to spend the $$$ on a fluke multi-meter. Grab your self a Craftsman multi-meter. They will do everything and more that your going to need it for. Unless your in an industry that you need very accurate readings at specific outputs, the Craftsman will be fine.

i have a fluke knockoff from radio shack and it does so much shit i dont even use it's pathetic, freakin thing even plugs into my comp so i can look at graphs of shit i've tested. it was like $100...

for what it's worth if your not testing shit on the space shuttle then this will probably work out just fine for you....

99.9% of the time i use my meter for voltage/ resistance and continuity, i have used the $5 meter against my $100 meter and there so damn close it dont matter for the stuff i use it for..

i actualy bought 5 cheap meters and handed them out to all my riding buddies so i always have a meter regardless of who i'm riding with....

my only real bitch with the cheap meter is when doing continuity it doesnt beep like my big meter...

what meter do you have, and what went out on it? there is a fuse inside, that can blow if you accidently have it set for amperage

Mine got a banshee cocktail spilled on it. Gas oil and antifreeze lol. I bought a craftsman one, I think it has a continuity beep. Paid $45 for it, ill see how it works out. 250 is insane for a meter!

that's a set of asv levers right there.

Flukes are the best on the market, which is reflected by their price.

I use a meter from home depot. It is an Ideal and has a lot of solid features and is within +/- .3% of my calibrated benchtop equipment.

the ideal meters are fluke knockoffs, but i don't know how well you can calibrate them. the craftsman, however, was way off @ work, so i calibrated it pretty easy. good enough for radio equipment and sensors, now.

No reason to pay retail for a set of ASV levers. Go on ebay and buy the refurbs right from ASV. I got mine for like 20 bucks each, and you would never know the differance.
