lazzonya Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 first time banshee owner. recently picked up a bone stock 01 which ran fine and started pretty easy (engine both warm and cold). i've added a K&N, removed airbox snorkel, put on a set of Paul Turner Hi Revs, and changed the mains to 260's. clip is at position 3 and the the pilots are stock (25's). air screws are at 2 turns out. since the changes, cold engine starts have become difficult in all outside temperatures. warm engine starts are still fine. bike runs great at all throttle positions and idles smooth. all hoses are in place and the carbs are clean and assembled correctly. plug chop has given me a nice light brown color. need ideas on the starting issue. 27.5 pilots? turn air screws in? possible stator going bad? thanks in advance. bode1 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Mine got like that after some work. Turned out my carb bowls were on wrong sides. The one with the brass ball bearing on the bowl goes on the choke side. Mine starts easily again. Cold starts had become frustrating till I switched them up. Quote

locogato11283 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 27.5 pilots.. that will solve your hard starting issue. Quote
AKheathen Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 mine was hard starting when i got it, even with the 25's drilled out bigger than the 30's i have now. turned out that, not only were the bowls on the wrong side, but the cable retainers were screwed on backwards, fixed both problems right away, and starts first or second kick below 0, after sitting for a month at a time. Facetious Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) 27.5 pilots.. that will solve your hard starting issue. 2nd that. When i went from the stock pipes to my PC's, I still had the 25's in and it was hard to start. Moved up to 27.5 and she starts beautifully, cold or hot. Edited March 26, 2009 by Facetious Quote
