I am going to get insurance for my banshee and was wondering if anyone has it and what company to go with? Is there different types like no fault, liability, full coverage? I am kinda clueless about this stuff but know I am going to get some.

Thanks

I go through state farm for mine and its like 80 bucks a year or somethin like that.. Thats basicly full coverage, they said the only thing the won't cover is poped tires but say you crashed and poped them they would cover that.. It sounded like in a theft case they would give you blue book value, PLUS what you could prove to have in it thats extra.. Id call a state farm agent for a quote.. I HAD farmers and them fags tried to get me like 200+ a year, wanted me to pay up front and they would only give me the blue book value in a total lost, don't waste your time with them..

Good luck..

x2. state farm quoted me a really good deal on my rhino when i bought it but they said i had to change my car insurance over to them too.

they probably could beat my current insurance company's (alfa) rate, but ive got 2 wrecks and 3 tickets on my record and alfa doesnt check it unless you file a claim. so state farm probably cant beat it until my record is clean.

I will have state farm. I talked to my ins agent and she told me to get a custom appraisal. That way if something were to happen they would give me the appraisal value not the blue book. Blue book on a 95 shee isn't much and i cant prove any of the extra's. When its said and done i should have about 8K in coverage. I went through the same process with my truck, try getting most agents to cover a 76 chevy for $20,000!

Thats who my auto insurance is through. Auto is still joint with my parents for a better rate and I don't know if they would want the 'Shee on there too!

Went with Geico. I pay $70 a year and have a low deductible.

I checked with Geico and for some messed up reason they don't cover in Michigan and 4 or 5 other states.

I got a quote with Progressive and it was about $107 for the first year with them. I talked to someone yesterday that has their banshee with them and are paying about $70/year full coverage.

Thanks for all the help.

Is yours retail value, or agreed coverage? (agreed is based on an appraisal/ replacement price)

Just curious, because that sounds like a good deal. Mine is retail value for replacement.

You know! My renewal is up in a few days so I went to pay it and asked some questions. Well it seems they had one of the vin #s wrong and it actually lowered it to $160 a year for both. Its a high deductible $500 but I would gladly pay that if something major happened. Oh, I almost forgot the best part, they uped the aftermarket parts bonus feature to $3000 instead of the original $1000 on top of the retail value of the bike or bluebook which evers which. So if something did happen to my bike, I think I would be in decent shape. Just got to keep the receipts for shit or take a lot of detailed pics.

Make sure you know what they'll pay out.

I think I paid 80 or so a year back when I carried insurance on mine. IN case of theft, fire, etc., they'd cover blue book...which at the time was like 2200.

I can't even build my motor for that even at my cost, so I dropped it.

I asked about a rider for more coverage, they didn't offer it.

I told them it would take me 8000 to 12000 to build my bike as is from scratch, they couldn't do anything for me. (State Farm)

I had receipts, pictures, you name it...nadda.

See thats weird how they are different from state to state then.. Cause like I said State Farm told me BB value PLUS whatever I had receipts and such.. They told me the ONLY thing they wouldn't take care of was popped tires..
