Yambanshee Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 The thing about a banshee is you can just jump on and have some fun. If its tight trailing i tend to flick it into 2nd (mines 100% stock) and get the back end out, if its long and open, those things run like hell. Im in the middle east, so i dune. Goes up just about any dune, i beat 450 MX bikes through camel grass (tight and technical pathces of sand with grass growing out of bumbs all over the place). So if you can get a banshee as the one that you listed above, and its in good condition, go for it, cuz its worth it! Quote
dbdragracing Posted February 28, 2009 Author Report Posted February 28, 2009 Well I traded the 2002 Banshee today! Now I have to get the twist throttle off and figure out how to get the bike to idle. Thanks for the help. Quote
R. Rollins Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 Well I traded the 2002 Banshee today! Now I have to get the twist throttle off and figure out how to get the bike to idle. Thanks for the help. Go to the Banshee HQ video section and there is a video near the top that shows how to manually sync your carbs. Goos luck. Quote
dbdragracing Posted February 28, 2009 Author Report Posted February 28, 2009 Go to the Banshee HQ video section and there is a video near the top that shows how to manually sync your carbs.Goos luck. Why do I need to manually sync the carbs? Thanks. Quote
grizzly700 Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 Why do I need to manually sync the carbs? Thanks. so that each cylinder is getting the same amount of air. otherwise its hard to tune and will put stress on the crank if one cylinder is hitting harder than the other. also wat is your jetting? maybe we can helo you their also. and check the reeds too. you may want to do a plug chop to know how its running. grizzly700 Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 and also congrats on the shee. im sure you will soon fall in love with it! Quote
Woolfman Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 The first thing I would check with your idling problem is make sure when he removed the TORS for the twist throttle that he installed the idle screw kit. Alot of guys don't and adjust the idle by the cable. That is what the dip shit that I bought mine from did. So look on both carbs for a gold screw with a lock nut on the outsides. Oh and if you want to get rid of the twist trottle I may be interested in trading for my thumb throttle. Quote
RagunCajun Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Make sure you do a compression test! If you dont have a gauge, stop at an autoparts store and get one. These guys provided some very good tips. Most of which i didnt do when i got mine. I just did a compression test. I got lucky though. If you do decide to get the banshee, please order yourself a Clymer manual for it. It shows how to do anything you need. It's $35ish and you never need a mechanic again. Quote
dbdragracing Posted March 1, 2009 Author Report Posted March 1, 2009 I went to check the compression, but my gauge wouldn't fit right so that was out. But I checked everything else the guys had listed...the bike starts first or second kick with no choke and runs really good...so I traded, hopefully I'm ok. :ermm: Quote
