'99350t Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 iam looking at a set on ebay right now, and everything i read about them seems real nice, does anyone have experience with these? thanks Quote
BigRed350x Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Go for it. They are a good unit. Quote
jbooker82 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 I had some on my raptor and sold them. After 2 rides the Hiem joints creeked and popped. I would look for some thing that has ball joints and not hiem joints. I also didn't want to go through with setting up and adjusting the Caster (the leaning back of the spindle). I ended up going with a set of HD USA I shock A arms. They have a fixed upper A arm. You only have to adjust the Toe, and Camber, and they have real ball joints. I do still use the ASR Pro X series tie rods that have the Hiem joints. josh Quote
rubberneck Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Go for it. They are a good unit. Fuck ASR, they are dicks. I have them on my bike, the arms are fine. The heims devolped slop after 2 trips to the dunes. Not to mention if you have any problems the people at ASR are retards and dont know shit about banshees. Id look elsewhere. I have heard a lot of guys speak highly of the wicked arms. personally, the next set i buy will have ball joints not heims. Heims or balljoints, its your call, but please dont buy anything from ASR. They are assholes. Just my .02 Quote

I have ASR a-arms with heims all the way around and have been running them for going on 3 years now. They are still just as tight as the day I bought them. I also run their heim tie rods and love them. Quote
rubberneck Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 Man, you guys must have some bad luck or somethin. Or I have good luck! haha! I also run their heim tie rods and love them. You know what man, i wouldn't bash them for the heims. The reality is that a full set of good quality heim joints like auroras cost more than they sell the whole damn arms for. Spend 300 on arms, you get chinese shit joints. I know that, i get it. I hate ASR for the shitty service i received after the sale. I had some problems with a swinger and they dicked me around for months. They never did do anything for me. I had to do some machine work on it to get it to work. Pisses me off because the tried every excuse in the book to blame me. Please bitches, this isn't my first barbecue. LOL Its funny because when you call them to buy shit they act like pros, then when there is an issue all you get is i dont knows and we've never had that problem before. For the record, i fit the arm up on 3 different bikes, and the fucking sprocket was out of alignment on all 3 the exact amount. They tried to tell me all 3 bikes were bent. Im not going to get rid of my arms, but i wont buy anything from them and will go out of my way to trash them every chance i get. there have been several other guys on here that had similar experiences. I do feel that for a bike that sees a lot of miles, ball joints would be way cheaper in the long run. Oh well, live and learn. Quote
jbooker82 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 I more or less sold mine so I could get a set of a arms that you didnt have to adjust the caster. That was reason #1. Then I just wanted a set that used ball joints. If I didnt have to set the caster on the asr's I would probably still have them. I still have there Hiem tie rods and they dont squeek. josh Quote

'99350t Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 well thanks for the replys everyone. gues ASR is out, i know how my luck goes and if theres a possibility of getting screwed on trying new products, i get it. i will have to do more research, seems like you rarely see factory heims going out...? thanks again Quote
wacko2000 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I Have ASR on my shee for over a year. I have some slop/play in my heim joints aswell. I believe ASR sells a-arms with balljoints now, I guess they where having alot of complaints with there shit. As far as customer service goes, I never had a problem there, First they sent me the wrong tie rods, got the new ones out ASAP, I bent a a-arm, I called them and they replaced it for free, no questions asked. As far as the quality of there product, I think you will be happier buying elsewhere. My next turn around, I will be buying a-arms with ball joints. Just me .02cents Quote
nfk Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I also have ASR a-arms and I like them. I have only had them for about a year but I have had no problems. I talked to them on the phone a few times and I thought they were very easy to deal with. Like others have said it takes a while to get them adjusted but once they are on they work good. Quote
