hi guyz.

i have bought a good used pair of pwk 35mm carbs with a new boss intake.

the carb came with 58 pilot jet and 158 main jet.

with my mods under, where should i be around on the main jet.

i have installed the carbs and the shee fired from the first kick.

idiling was quite good but WOT sucked. it revs up quite good until it reaches the peak rpms, it starts to sputter. as if there a rev limiter on the shee.

i dunno wither i am lean or rich.

another problem am facing is that gas is pouring out of the carb from the upper left and right inlets and also from the downward inlet.

any tips on solving the prob would be aprreciated.

first off, that pilot is way too big. you should be in the 45 to 48 range..

try a 160 or 162 main jet.

as for the carbs overflowing you need to pull the bowls off and adjust the floats. it sounds like they are not adjusted high enough for the needle to stop the flow of fuel in the seat.

i am using a cej needle

Lol in the stock carb i always jet it without a load and i know if i am using the right main jet the wot would give a nice contious sound with no sputtering or bogging

It was pretty since i knew which jet is considered big or small.

On this new carb jet sizes are diffrent and i dont know if a 162 jet is considered a big jet for the kiehin carb

you need to ride it and read the plugs.

162 seems pretty rich to me.

I have 160s in my 4mil and it is pretty rich at 50-60 degrees.

What temp and elevation are you running and what are you using

for air filters ?

i tried riding the shee and it is fine. i am just afraid that i might be on the lean side. no sputtering or bogging at all and it pulls quite hard than the stock carbs. lifting the front end on fourth gear is easy on pavement.

if 162 is considered rich then i won't change.

my elevation is sea level

temp between 68-90 f

You might still be lean if it feels better with chokes on.

Just do yourself a favor and read those plugz. Follow

directions for plug chop.

That way you know for sure !
