locogato11283 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Yes, I am going to talk more with Kevin about it for sure. He thinks it would be a good motor for what I do, I don't play like alot of guys do. Mostly hillshooting, with a dune and play put in here and there. Shoot 3 or 4 hills, let it cool. Repeat. Then maybe dune. And throw in a drag race against some four pokes and that about sums it up. you might be alright with the cub then. i was thinking that you rode a lot of trails and what not. i still think 33mm pwk would be good for your setup too. FireHead Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I think you could go bigger on the carbs. Your 33's might help the bottem end and have a little moresnap, but that cylinder and set pipes would benefit greatly having more air fed to them with the bigger carbs. If you don't already have one, you might consider a modded shift star and the "shift pro kit" that Cascade sells. You don't need an overide either, my bike shifts fine with this mod. Word. 35mm carbs are probably more suitable if you are duning the bike. The Cascade shift star and Shift Pro follower are good idea as well. :geek: Quote
bigboybanshee Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I would run a longer swingarm, a +4 is going to be one heck of a ride up a hill, considering the front end won't want to stay down much as is.... Quote
KEVSWS6 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 +4 will be a wild ride for sure! While your saving for bigger carbs I will have N down 1-5 overrides in stock and ready to ship. Nothing better than not having to clutch when shifting. Have the stock under clutch cover Sling Shot lockouts in stock too. These are great for that stealth look. Yes, you can go broke doing this. locogato11283 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 i think youll be alright with a +4. hell i had a +4 on my 10mm for a while. its a handful at the hillclimbs, so i went with a +6.. but for riding those types of hills i would stick with the +4. and def get a duneable override.. Can it be a rideable setup? Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted September 9, 2008 Author Report Posted September 9, 2008 See, the thing with alot of these hills are they are loose. Hard packed and getting bite, yea it will fly off the handle. But in this stuff, I think I should be ok with a +4. I am going to talk with Kevin about my tranny. I have everything else all squared away, just need to iron those kinks out with what we are going to do there. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 How is that overide with the cub? Can it be a rideable setup? i have a 2-4 dineable override and it works awesome.. if i were to do it again id have a 2-5.. i can upshift, down shift mine at all different speeds. never had a problem. TeamRealtreeHD Posted September 9, 2008 Author Report Posted September 9, 2008 Kevin said this is going to have the power I want, low to top for my riding. I trust him like no other. This is going to be exciting. It will be able to play and run with the big boys. That should be exciting... Quote
okbeast Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Maybe think about getting some CPI's instead of the Shearers. They "supposedly" have a little more bottom-end to them, might make pullin the hill easier. Quote
00tbanshee Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 tony, kev knows what you are going to be doing with this thing.he is a very smart guy.i'm sure he will port the cub so it will makes the power where you want it.there is many things he has learned about these cubs and i must say that they work.as for a overide they are great.i have a 1-5 neutral down dunable but for the type of riding you do you just have to remember that they still shouldn't be back loaded at high rpm's.as for the lockup.the slingshot works very well but you need to remember to lock tight the 6 allen bolts or they will come out.believe me.lol.if you are going to run a lockup then its a good idea to have a overide Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 Yea, I am definately going to be running the direct drive lockout. I got it already. And the Ndown 1-5. He is very confident this motor is going to be fun once we thorw it in there... Quote
