i went yesterday to go see a banshee that some guy is selling an im wondering if a banshee would be a good bike for me ive always loved banshees but im a little scared about it being 2 stroke jus wondering if banshees are reliable bikes that i can ride every week in the streets and woods without having to take apart the top end or any serious problems like that

They are as reliable as anyother as long as you keep up with maintenance. They do require a top end from time to time, it depends how radical you get with it. My all stock bike went to 5 years without a topend job, but I always made sure my gas was mixed properly and my filter was clean. They are a blast to ride.

So they can be as reliable as a 4stroke?? Cuz I really wanna get this banshee but it being 2 stroke really makes me think sometimes if I should jus get a 450

as already stated in this thread Banshees are super reliable if you keep up on routine matinence, jetted properly, fresh mixed fuel, clean air filter, new trans/clutch oil regularly. If you can keep this up your topend will last for years.

2 strokes require the same attention as the 4 strokes and are more reliable in my opinion i have had several of both. and believe me when i say that doing a top end on a 2 stroke is WAY cheaper and usually when a 4 stroke blows up being they turn high rpms they have been known to take the cases with them i learned that the hard way. and i am refering to the 450s

I'd rather rebuild a wiped out 2 stroke than fuck with shimming valves on a 4 stroke any day of the week.

Do yourself a favor before getting the banshee. Check the compression and ride the thing. The power comes on alot different than a 4 stroke and you may not like it. And if the top ends worn out and your not into messing with your bike than stay away from it. Otherwise, you cant beat owning a Banshee.

oh well if they can be as reliable and not blow then il probably get it then i can work on the bike i jus dont wanna take apart the engine thats the only thing that i dont wanna be doing and im going to test ride it the next time i go to his house and see how the bike rides it should start first or second kick right??
