  1. 250 mains for winter and 230-240's for summer, stock pilots, stock needle position....Take the snorkel off if you want...
  2. I think spoin has it pretty close....
  3. I'd start w/ 170-175 mains, 50 pilots, and go from there....This is just a base and should get you somewhat close...the rest is up to you!!!
  4. Pc's have no bottem end compared to others. I'd catergorize them as a high rev. For all around, I'd go for Ptr mids, fmf sst's, fmf gnarlies, Bills, Dmc,or even fatties....Anything else is more of a high rev....My list of pipes is from most bottom and best all around to a mid-high rev....
  5. Stock pipes do that, no need to worry.....
  6. Sounds fine to me.....Thanks...
  7. I'm going to Dumont next week, send them to me and I'll try them out. I've tried just about every pipe out there including the Pt mids, but not the high revs... I'll let you know how they are.....
  8. I'd go for the Pt's and twin K&N's if you don't ride in a lot of mud....if you do, then get the single K&N and cut the last 1.5" off the end of the air box lid......Pt's cost around $650-700 for chrome +shipping.....
  9. I just disconnect mine, I never twist or cut wires...
  10. Thats right, they use the Br's for mostly snowmobiles around here since they are more common and will mess w/ TV reception when riding around houses....I run just the B8ES
  11. I've never heard of anyone running leaner pilots than stock which is a 25. Your elevation must be really high.....The best way to dial in the mains is to run it wide open in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, shut it down, pull the plugs and see what color they are......go from there....as for the pilots, try some 22.5's...either that or get some pipes and that'll lean it out..
  12. You should get a accurate color after running for 5-10 seconds at wot....I've had old black plugs burn in on the dyno in one run and stayed that color after continuous runs. I'd go up a couple more sizes....What makes you think its running rich?? Hesitation?? Spittin or sputtering?? Do you have to keep revving it to clean it out?? does it idle good? Start good when cold? warm?
  13. Hot Rod Cranks are better than stock w/ better bearings...You can get them for around $400 give or take....
  14. If it likes the 2.5-3 turns out better, than your running rich....Do you have stock pilots in there????
  15. You obviously never ran a -2 swingarm.........
  16. Mods really don't matter as much as what kind of riding you do.....Pipe choice is very important and should be determined on you type of riding.....There is a pipe for every type of riding and you can benefit greatly w/ the pipe that matches to YOUR needs and not a pipe that has the most hp or the best sound....So basically this poll is worthless unless you post your type of riding, what gear you mostly ride in, type of terrain, and what you do mostly of to what you don't do much of.....
  17. They've already said it......but I'll put my .02 in....-2 swingarm....then any tire will hook up..
  18. I don't bother using plug test for idle or middle throttle openings. I don't believe in it. I only test my quad at wot for plug readings for the mains...Adjust the needles and pilots by feel...YOu can notice more difference then the mains, so its not that hard...
  19. Could be a few things. Did you change anything before this started happening?? When did this start? All at once or gradually came on?? Is your tors still connected? (little black box above the left exhaust) parking brake switch still connected??
  20. You can get PT pipes w/ no coating at all. I had mine powdercoated silver....Trinity also has black pipes..
  21. 240 mains, stock needle clip, stock pilots....I think you just need to adjust the air screws...they make a big difference, especially w/ stock pipes...you should have a crisp throttle response..I always had a hard time not fouling plugs w/ stock pipes, put pipes on and never fouled another plug....
  22. You probably swapped the carb bowls...Only the left carb has a brass tube and little jet in the carb bowl. If you put the right carb bowl on the left carb, then your choke won't work.....
  23. Now don't I feel sheeeepish!!!! Damn 190 mains for keihin carbs.....that is BIG..You checked the plugs right after running it wide open throttle in 6th gear?? And they are still that light??
  24. I'm going, this will be a walk in the park after driving to Cali from Maine.... I'm not sure, but PA should only be about 7-8 hours away for me....We travel 5-6 hours all the time in the winter for the sledding trips, so this won't be any different. Pick a date and I'll be there......
  25. Glad to hear that, I was kinda worried when you said the rims were rubbing...My new arms are 2+2 and work really awesome. My tie rods hit my shocks when fully turned, but there isn't much I can do. Gary said that would be a problem since they are moved so far forward, but I still love em. I can hit jumps and steep hills in 3rd gear and never hit my front bumper anymore.... Thats a plus!!!
