  1. I think this is missing three important words: "...or your money back". Wait. One..two.. ahh. You know what I meant.
  2. If you have any scratches in your plastic car wax may fill them in. If you don't use color matched wax and have many scratches it will look very bad. Getting the wax out of many scratches is a pain if not impossible. You just have to let it wear out over time.
  3. I trust this. Sounds legit and something about Brad's screen name suggests he knows something about medicine. Other option is not to drink alcoholic-beverages (sorry had to be said).
  4. Does he not own a traditional pair of prescription eyewear such as glasses or contact lenses? Usually an old pair exists that will suffice. There has to be a way to safely pack them while riding for use when you stop to take a break. No doubt his vision impairment extends outside of the ATV riding experience. What does he do when he isn't riding? Surely he doesn't walk around with the goggles on constantly.
  5. Are you sure it's a cell phone? It looks like a hacky sack cam to me.
  6. Good, but I hope they weren't Americans. Some liberal junior-grade JAG who has never been in-country or experienced combat will love to armchair quarterback that situation. :shoothead:
  7. What does this mean to the future of South Park Episodes?
  8. Boy he is going to be sorry! What kind of stuff you going to do?
  9. It would not be my choice, but it doesn't matter what I think. Buy what you like and have fun.
  10. I just noticed this thread may set the record for views (not replies) per hour. Someone's liking that pick.
  11. Everything about this is not right. I wish we could here the rest of how this goes down.
  12. I think it is tough to find work when the weather is bad which effectively lowers your annual salary. There is a Cat D-11R and a D-9N dozer that have been sitting in a muddy field near my place for over a month. They are building new houses. Another D-6R is stuck pulling a compactor (giant lawn roller with spikes). I think the big snow and subsequent melt 5-6 weeks ago caught them unprepared and now they are waiting for it all to dry or freeze up to continue (my guess). A little like selling mineral rights, except this is theoretically unending. Now I know this is too deep for most of you, but if you extract the kinetic energy from the wind the air behind these things should slow down (and spread out). My vision if of some yet undiscovered crisis like the "butterfly effect" in reverse. I guess what I'm thinking is if you put up enough of these things could you stop weather patterns from shifting? I know... too deep for the HQ folks... Click here for an illustration if you are a true geek... :ermm:
  13. KBB is showing retail value less than this - about $1300 depending on your area. You would have to ask LESS for a bike with no title if you wanted me to buy it. Click here
  14. Thanks. I have to say I've learned a bit from this thread! I especially like the site where you can see how much electricity is being used in the Midwestern United States right now. Was 65,000 Megawatt/Hours when I looked. I gotta turn some lights off. Damn! Let's see what did that nutty professor need in Back to the Future? 1.21 Gigawatts!?!? :ermm:
  15. I previously posted The Avenger's Handbook in another topic for times like this...
  16. Yeah, duh! We kind of forget about the big guy. :: Yes, I have contemplated that almost any idiot can start a .com these days. Lee's additional contribution comes in the way he keeps people coming back here year after year offering their assistance (and getting some of their own in return). EDIT: Or maybe it is just the other sites are that terrible nobody wants to frequent them... Just kidding Lee. Keep up the great work!
  17. "....completing a 1.65 MW turbine-sufficient to power some 500 homes...." Source: USDA (www.usda.gov). "Wind Turbines have a designed working life of 20 to 25 years and require very little maintenance during this time." Source: Macfarlane Generators (www.macgen.com) So how much do 500 rural homes pay for electricity for 20-25 years? Merrium, Webster and I would like to know what the hell a pultrusion is? EDIT: Nevermind. I found it on your company's web site. In retrospect I do not feel so bad because it is a "frequently asked" question. Merrium and Webster can find out for themselves someday soon. :yelrotflmao:
  18. Ah, you just need a couple modified Banshees, a few pair of sand tires and some premix. Edit: And I just realized I sort of hijacked MM's thread. Sorry big guy! ::
  19. "There are approximately 150 cubic metres of concrete and 21 tons of rebar (reinforcing steel) in the wind turbine's foundation.", but surely it would depend on the design, environment, and a lot of other stuff. Here are some links with pictures of the foundations being built and discussing it in detail. One has a technical drawing that should answer most of your questions: Foundation Information Resource 1 Foundation Information Resource 2 Foundation Information Resource 3 (Just data - No pics) And if you want to know about off-shore wind turbine foundations take a look here: Off-Shore Foundation Resource 1
  20. They are designed to shut off at 55 mph of wind speed. A lot of unknown and variable factors determine how fast the blades would be turning at that point. This Department of Energy article explains how they work. Which turbine site are you referring to? I posted a previous link to an article about the construction of the one in Pittsfield, Illinois. It cites construction of the 1.65 MW turbine as a $1.89 million project. It is not immediately clear how this total was derived, but I suspect it is a total cost. Were you seeking wholesale or retail cost? If you want to know how that adds up take a look at the Midwest ISO site. It claims to show realtime electricity load of the Midwestern United States. You may also be able to glean the current price of a MW/H on the open market for comparison purposes. Oh, I don't think they allow wind turbines in place of flags on your Banshee at the dunes, but I like how you think.
  21. If it is in fact a fuel pressure regulator you need fuel pressure to regulate. I am FAR from a mechanic, but you need a fuel pump for fuel pressure and the Banshee is gravity fed. So in conclusion my vote is "No".
  22. I think the wind farms are neat, but some people are adamantly opposed to the entire concept. Everyone seems to want unlimited energy, but nobody wants to make the slightest concession to achieve that goal. What are you doing with fiber at a wind farm? You cannot send electricity over it, so it must be a control or monitoring system of some sort, eh? I did read about some research to send electricity without wires (not arcing). Maybe you're doing top secret research for them...
  23. Here is about the one in Pittsfield, Illinois: http://www.usda.gov/rus/electric/success/il-success.htm This might give a statewide view: http://www.awea.org/projects/illinois.html I'll see what else I can find... Who is going to be the first to jump a Banshee through the blades?
  24. Where is this? I thought the plans to build that wind farm in East-Central Illinois were scrapped. McLean County, I think? Something about military radar being ruined by them? I've been to the lonely one in Pittsfield though. It is first rate! With it's light beacon flashing it resembles something ethereal as you approach on the winding two-lane from Louisiana, Missouri. There is a smaller one near I-170 and Page Avenue (I think) in St. Louis too. With all the wind-turbulence from buildings and such that seemed like a very odd place to put one, but it seems to spin often.
  25. Interesting that they made a manual for the ATC250R, but no bike. :shoothead: Yes, Previously in this thread the Tiger 500 trike was mentioned and links were provied. Thanks.
