Talk about livin the high life (well in my book anyway). Our trip to Winchester Bay is the first week of Oct. your all invited - bring your tailers to show off Norm
  7. I bought a new axle to replace my bent stocker and also decided to try a -2 swingarm. So heres my problem when I go to put the dura blue lock nut and c clip/ collar combo on there seems to be about a inch of space bettween it and the sprocket hub. The swing arm is a Lagers and its a Dura blue excalabur axle. So is there some sort of spacer Im missing or will the stock disc and sprocket hub not work ? Can some one walk me through seting this thing up ? Obviously my lego and linkin log training is failing me here. thanks Norm
  8. thanks for the replys everyone. I don't know if this guy knows much about jetting or the basics of the carbs so Im hopeing that its something that simple - but reading passions post gives me more than a little doubt. I'll get to the bottom of it one way or another. Thanks again Norm
  9. I might be able to get what I need - so what would I need ? and how do you do it
  10. heres the deal. A friends brother-in-law just moved here with a stock banshee. I have yet to meet him but tragedy has struck his machine. It's hard to start and smokes bad from the right pipe - fowls the right plug. The local yamaha joint right off says it's his crank seal. Rather than dumping a grand for no reason at the stealership Im pushing for him to let me fix it. So is there any way to test if the seal is bad? Im hopeing for something simple like a stuck carb float/slide. Also if the thing still has the ebrake and tors still hooked up would that provide the same symptoms ? Aparantly it ran fine when he last rode it a month ago. Any help greatly appreiciated
  11. not to slight anyone elses veiw but I have to say RJV in my oppinion you are doing an excellent job Brooke: I wanted to add God has known every single thought and why you had them since before you where born. Regardless of what youve done or what you will do GOOD or BAD God LOVES YOU. God doesn't love you based on what you DO or DONT DO he loves you for what you are - his unique creation. Gods love is hard to even fathom on a human level (considering our versions of love). The sacrifice of his son for YOU is part evidence of that ( I recomend watching "The Passion" to get a better idea of the physical part of Jesus suffering leading up to his death/resurection). What God wants of you and I is to love him back willingly -which is why God didn't make us all robots programed to love Him in the first place. That said relationships are built one day at a time. the thing is He's been with you since your first day so you gotta play catch up I would like to challenge you to this: TAKE THE FIRST STEP START A RELATIONSHIP - tell God/Jesus that you are gratefull for Jesus dieing for you on the cross so your bad stuff/sin can be erased and that your sorry for the bad stuff you've done - tell him you want to get to know him and ask that he would show himself to you in ways only you would know about . If you do this and truly mean it I will absolutly 100% garanty God will prove himself to you without a shadow of a doubt in your mind. How do I know this ? cause he said he would and cause he did for me - heck he still does nearly every day I hope Im not coming across as pushey here I just wanted to respond to where you said ....negates all that, in god's eyes, and send me to hell, then fuck it. thats not a god i want to know anyway. If you knew the simple cure to a brutal disease would you not want to tell that person how to get better. Knowing Jesus/God is on a much bigger scale than even that . thats why I will beg and plead with people to (reguardless of other people and past events) allow God to show himself to them. well I gess my intended 2 lines got expanded - sorry I just can't shut up when it comes to what Jesus has done for me and what he can do for YOU YES i KNOW MY 8 YEAR OLD SPELS BETTER THAN ME
  12. For those of you who have been following the thread and are curious about Jesus and Salvation, don't get frustrated with the debate and lose sight of the real issue. That issue is what Jesus Christ did for each and every person on this planet. He was born, lived a perfect life, died on the cross paying for our sins, rose from the grave defeating death and the devil, and calls out to you personally. Faith and acceptance of his forgiveness is all it takes. What you do with your life after accepting him is another issue that is between you and God. wow talk about nailing it. I could add to what you said but like alot in this thread it's just more to get hung up on. Holyman - I belive God knows the true intentions of your heart. That said when I express joy and happiness with my family (teaching my kids to do the same) for all that Jesus did for us both in his birth and death/resurection at Christmas/Easter I cannot accept that he is not pleased . We will each have to answer for the stuff we do in the end. Just because some wackos way back when did bad things on those dates has no bearing on my celebration of Christ during christmas or easter. Im sure there has been enough bad things done on each date through out history to screw up every day if you want to take it that far. The past is the past I live for Jesus each day. I also belive God calls us to individual things that he might not call others to - one guys called to go to New Guinea as a missionary / another called to run a pizza joint - if that is what God is telling you to do you better darn well do it . So if you feel God calling you to not celebrate Christmas etc. the same applies. after all I rambled refer back to what RJ said at the begining of my post
  13. actually it is harder to start once warm. When cold it starts 3-4 kicks with choke but double that once warm - although I didn't try using the choke once it was warm.
  14. OK so I figure I have my jetting basicly where I want it but my beef is : instead of the usual 1-2 kicks to start now it takes 8. It is acting like it's getting to much fuel on start yet idles nice. So is my pilot to big or perhaps I should drop the needle 1 notch ? It's a Kehine 35 airstryker I forget what jets in it cause I did it last year but I basicly took RedOre's sugestions and went with it.My compression on the gague was 165ish and I don't have porting with every other bolt on possible. Im to long winded I just want this thing to start first or second kick like it always used to before the 2into1

  16. thanks for the info guys . My motor has every bolt on thing available but no porting - 2into1 carb vforce reeds noss head 20cc domes PTR mids degree key lightened flywheel. I have sand star paddles which are v design (which hooked awesome last trip) so like was sugested maybe a little more air in them and it sounds like I will be fine. Thanks Norm
  17. looks like Im about to buy a -2 swingarm and I was wondering if it will be unrideable at the dunes. We only go to the dunes once a year so it's not a huge thing but I was looking for some real world input. I don't mine a little wheels up action but if it's gonna be pointless then I want to know ahead of time rather than drive for 15 hours to find I should have swaped arms.
  18. email me asap at [email protected] I want your swingarm , carrier and shock. I have a friend that may want your a arms if you still have them - package deal ?
  19. has anyone ran them on a banshee. would they be usefull to dial in your jetting? I know the sled guys use them so I thought I'dd ask
  20. right on . We're booked for the first week of Oct - counting the days
  21. we usually go in the spring but my wife tore all the tendons off her shoulder going over the bars into some rocks so we're going in the fall so shee can heal. We're shooting for sept 30th to Oct.10th. this will be our 7th trip to the dunes - I look forward to it all year so I want to make sure it's the best week possible. Thanks for the reply
  22. OK planning the yearly Oregon dune trip here . This year we've decided to try camping at Winchester bay . So im looking for advise on the best place to go. So far we are leaning twards Discovery Point campground. I'dd like someones oppinion on the nicest 2-3 side by side spots there able to handle a 30' toyhauler and crewcab so we can book them. Of coarse any advise is welcome.
  23. mine was taped to the back of one of the brackets alittle to the center and behind the pasenger front tow hook. I looked for at least an hour to find it - it was totaly covered by black tape. Once I found it you had to be a contortionist to get the stupid thing out. I plug mine in from freezing on down - but then Im anal with my truck
  24. yep me to. I have to pay for a flamed grill I just won but no luck for me
