  1. Don't let that stop ya from posting Evil... I haven't, lol. We should actually be called the 'gardening team'... weed out the un-needed outwar posts, and plant things in better locations.
  2. Don't see why so many people are complaining about this thread... it's in the right spot.
  3. Definitely can't forget the good old ratio rite measuring cup, along with a 5 gallon gas tank for mixing. I don't know how many spark plugs i could have saved if I had the ratio rite to begin with.
  4. I know exactly what everyone has been stating on this thread, but just because I'm a mod doesn't mean i can no longer voice my opinion like any other member. Sorry you took a bit of offense at my crybaby remark, it was directed more towards chase, not you or anyone else. You simply voiced your opinion, along with others, and I voiced mine, nothing more. I do, however, feel that chase is on a mission to tear apart what Lee has tried to accomplish, and for that, my OPINION of him is nothing more than a crybaby. Just because I have that opinion of him doesn't mean I'm going to go around deleteing his posts or threads... I'm above that type of behavior. Now the second the members start treating any mods differently than they did when they weren't listed on a mod team, then I believe that's when the feared topic of egotistical mod comes into play. My thought is that's exactly what chase is trying to do, test the mods so to speak. Big deal... I don't care what chase said about me, nor do I care about what anyone else said about me or any of the other mods. I blow it off and keep filtering through the threads making sure they're up to par and in the right category where they'll get the most assistance from. I still can't see why everyone's getting hung up on what I said about 'testing' some things out... I mean damn.... i moved some repair threads to the repair section, and deleted an outwar posts. I have never in my life liked to be in a 'position of power' so to speak, because it does cause some problems. But like I stated before, I don't see being a mod as having power over anyone else, I look at it more along the lines of doing my part to help out since I don't have much mechanical knowledge as I'd like to. I'm still learning from this site as are 90% of the members. Point being... don't start hating a mod because they voiced their opinion just like they have before obtaining mod status... that's just childish. If you don't like what someone said when they voiced their opinion, deal with it however, but don't try to drag others down because of it, and do it in an adult like manner... not useless whining. Just MY (long term member of this site) 2 cents worth... take it, or get a refund and go on with your life.
  5. I think it'd be nice for something like that. We already have something similar to that... the wallpapers as BenBB pointed out. I think doing like a member of the month would be good. Kinda like a nomination based on what member may have done something good for the site, or helped alot of people out, something of that nature. Alot of people on here deserve credit for helping someone else out.
  6. blah blah blah... sorry the mods have ruined your life... build a bridge and get over it already, this site's not going down the crapper from the addition of mods, but now it's becoming a site for crybabies. By the way... prime example that the mods won't let anything go to their heads... this thread hasn't been deleted yet has it? Maybe you didn't notice that. Good day
  7. clean your plastics extremely well. Don't worry about drying them. Use some soapy water and wet down the area where you're going to apply them. place the sticker down, but don't use much pressure. You should be able to move the stickers around to position them. Once positioned correctly, use something without a rough edge such as a credit card, driver's license, plastic putty knife, etc... Start from the center and work your way out, being careful to smooth out all the water and the air bubbles. Once you complete that, go over it again to make sure the sticker is adhering all the way. Let the stickers sit overnight and they'll be ready to go the next day. Also a tip... if you have a small pocket of air that's trapped under neath a sticker and you can't get it worked out... take a very small needle and poke a hole in the middle of the air bubble. Don't force the air out fast or you might cause it to blow the hole bigger. Once the air is out, make sure the sticker is adhering to the plastic around the small hole. The hole won't be noticeable once it's sticking to the plastic.
  8. I was wondering the same thing, but wasn't going to bring it up since no one had verbally attacked anyone yet.
  9. That's the thing... i can't do a bunch of runs to do plug chops. Where I could go to do adequate plug chops and still have access to a garage and tools is 100 miles away from my shop. So I pretty much need to get it right the first or second time. Last winter I do know it took forever to start, and a long time to warm up... and then it was running real hot and emptied alot of my coolant in the snow. I think that's what caused my impellor to warp a bit and start loosing pieces, but who knows.
  10. Amen brotha, Amen!!
  11. Please don't link a post in one section to a post in another section... it's nothing but useless clutter. Just a fair warning... won't bust your balls about it or anything... just keep it to a minimum (meaning last time this happens). S.D.
  12. Good eye sneeky. Has me curious as well on what was meant by that information. Maybe she'll chime in soon and give us the details.
  13. Congrats on the baby!! My g/f's mom keeps buggin her about when we're getting married and making her some grandkids... but I think she's going to have to wait on that a bit. Get that kid on the shee, or at least something to work up to the shee as quickly as possible... raise that boy the right way... on quads!!
  14. Issue is being dealt with... Deathly's final warning has been given.... shape up, or ship out.
  15. Good point Yamahammer. Any outwar post that has a false link is being removed as soon as it comes to our attention. The other post in general section, as far as i'm concerned, can stay for the time being, but will probably be removed soon seeing as how over 70% of the members don't want anything to do with outwar. Keep the votes and opinions coming.
  16. I didn't ride much during the winter last year as I would have liked to, and didn't have a good place to do tests or attempt trying to rejet for the winter. This year I plan on getting out and riding more this winter... but still have the issue no where to do test runs and plug chops without a decent drive. Basically what I'm wanting to know is what sized jet, clip position, etc... would work best for the winter in oklahoma on an all stock banshee? Preferably looking for an answer from dlnoss, passionre, or any of the other Oklahomans on the site that could give me some info.
  17. Good point... but here's what I see when I read the description of the general section: "Anything that does not include modifying your Banshee or your riding trips and events." The general section of a forum is used for posts that have no other place. In reference to Absolut's post about his child... that falls into the general category and is the reason why it's still there. God knows his child isn't a modification to his shee or a riding trip (well... was created by riding anyways ). What I was referring to by posts that I moved that didn't belong in the general section was posts about repairs, modifications, ebay auctions, riding trips, etc... Those have their own categories and need to be posted their. I completely agree with you on the subject of keeping the site open to other discussions besides just banshees. In reference to NYUK's post about selling a PW80, I don't think him being a longterm member has anything to do with the post not being deleted. I think it's more along the lines of he may be selling for money for his banshee. Had he posted it in the general section, or online auction watch... still would have fit with no issues. Needless to say, Lee is the one who makes the sections, and decides what content goes in them.
  18. I actually find this thread completely hilarious!! I myself don't have a problem with NYUK, he's alright in my book. I'll admit... there have been a few of his posts which didn't really need to be made, but still funny in some sense. NYUK does have alot of knowledge in the banshee world, so it's wise not to poke around with sticks in his direction if you're looking for a well educated answer to a question. I actually find this thread that you created more out of line than most of NYUK's comments, but I do have to give you credit for at least getting it in the correct section.
  19. I as a member of the HQ Moderating Team want the member's opinions on this subject. I realize that in the past, many posts/threads containing links to 'outwar' sites were posted in false pretenses, stating that they were a link to a different site. I didn't appreciate clicking a link expecting pics of a 700cc banshee for example, and finding I had been tricked into clicking a link to an 'outwar' page. I, along with other members, don't mind the occasional 'outwar' thread, as long as it's honest in it's nature of what the link is to... no tricks. Many members will support the 'outwar' player if they're honest about it. What's the opinions of the rest of the members... are outwar posts ok with the majority of you? Are they ok as long as the threadstarter is honest about the link? Or do you wish all 'outwar' threads were deleted? Let the voting begin. Feel free to imput your opinions along with your vote.
  20. I'll admit... i've been on some sites where you couldn't do anything without a mod deleting or changing a post. I've tested out what 'powers' Lee has given us, and basically, it's just simple control to help keep offtopic posts out of the way. I myself was bored one night shortly after being deemed moderator and was doing some tests.... i went through and cleaned out alot of the posts in general which didn't belong in there. There is no option to ban anyone that I'm aware of (wish there was for spammers like deathpetal and a few other repeat violators). I have deleted a thread or two, but they were the outwar threads which many people had problems with. I don't have alot of mechanical knowledge to attribute to this wonderful site like some of you have, so this is a way to help contribute the best way I can. I didn't ask to be considered for the mod position to have "power" over anyone, but I myself was getting kind of upset when I'd go to look in the forums and find stuff there that didn't belong. It was a bother and annoyance. If anyone is aggitated that a mod moved/deleted their thread... the issue can be addressed. The thread may have been better suited in a different forum where more people with that knowledge see it. Some may be deleted because of repeat warnings about content, or hiding a link for a stupid game such as outwar and claiming it's something else. That's how I look at this... my contribution is attempting to keep this site free from junk, and stuff in the right place so everyone can be happy. If someone has a problem with me... tell me. PM, email, whatever... let me know what the problem is you have with me. If it's legit... it'll be considered with an open mind... if there's no point what-so-ever, it'll still be considered with an open mind, but to a smaller extent. I myself don't forsee any issues with the current mods selected. All are long time posters, and have contributed to the site in one way or another. Granted, disputs may have arose between someone else, and one of the mods in the past, and the mod may have hard feelings toward that other member, but I highly doubt that action would be taken against that member for issues in the past. If there is an issue with a certian mod... take that up with them in private... there isn't a need for arguments cluttering the forums up. If the problem persists, notify another mod, or Lee himself. Lee has the governing right to take action against any mod who he sees as unfit to keep their position. On a side note... to help with the question of 'why so many mods,' today, my email had several reports about a certian thread in the images section titled "700cc banshee." The thread resulted in 10 complaints being sent about it within a 30 min. time span from what I gathered on the tagged times. Some of you may have seen the thread and found out it was a link to an outwar site, some may not have because as soon as it was brought to my attention, it was deleted. A warning was given to the thread maker about using the HQ as a source of hits for outwar. That post was just in one section, and the complaints were just on that one topic. What if more threads spawn reports like that, but only in multiple sections, for multiple posts? A few people would find that hard to manage the forums and removed the inapporpriate material. Since there are 10 mods total, and Lee, issues with posts can be resolved quicker. That's the whole point of the moderators.
  21. I don't think it ever made it over to the new forums. I noticed I couldn't find alot of my old posts when I did a search right after the change.
  22. Justintoxicateds hosted manual. Not sure if it's the same one... try it and see.
  23. It was BB757.
  24. Your opinion is your opinion... as long as it doesn't stray from the topic in discussion.
  25. slap mine on and give'em some more burnouts and you'll almost have slicks, lol.
