  1. Maybe on the next swingarm I sell I'll take a hammer to the finish, and then tell the new owner of it that I'll gladly replace the chrome at cost. They shouldn't have said a fuckin word. They should have just taken the bike back and exchanged it on the spot. Maybe got the guy a drink or a foot rub for his troubles. Shit happens, and sometimes shit happens to you. Its the cost of doing business some days.
  2. Try deleting cookies in your browser options, then give it a shot.
  3. SHIT I'M RIGHT UP THAT BITCHES ALLEY!
  4. I've seen it first hand, except with different problems. We were at St Anthonys as well, and one bike wouldnt run worth a shit. It would get to the powerband and stall and it was hard to start. I mention to the owner of the bike "What does your air filter look like? Clean?" "YEAH ITS CLEAN. I CLEANED IT 2 RIDES AGO." like I was insulting his mechanic skills. That was my first clue. I drop the clean air filter issue and we go to work disconnecting the TORS. As I'm down there un plugging the little box while the owner was somewhere else....I decide to pull the seat off. The Outerwear was plugged with sand, leaves and mud. I pull the outerwear off just as he comes walking back to "work" on the bike with me. I told him to start it. It started. I told him to go run it. He comes back "What did you do? Its like a brand new bike!" I told him his air cleaner was too dirty. I hold up the outerwear and show him how its plugged. I tell them then to run into Rexburg and grab some Simple Green so we can clean this plugged Outerwear and his now dirty aircleaner "I don't have that kind of money" is the answer I get. 20 minutes later he ran into town for more beer and cigarettes. 2 hours later the bike was parked on the trailer because the air cleaner without an outerwear had plugged so bad that it wouldn't even start. Got to start at the simple stuff and work your way out.
  5. I dunno...some of those Civics are pretty hot once they get the neons and the 8" exhaust tips on them. Once you put a 1" drop on the springs..oh its on! You can leave the brakes stock though.
  6. I like it, but I don't dig the headlights. Looks like they did a clean job! I bet he paid a fuckin fortune to have that done.
  7. Bore guages are awesome. Learn how to use one because it will come in handy!
  8. Good to have someone new around! Welcome.
  9. Its sucks when that happens. It could have been he didn't know, or it could have been like what I've seen, he just didn't give a fuck. I have seen people riding out at Sand Mountain at night with out lights, and deliberately cut people off that are out riding WITH lights. You never know whats out there and whats going to happen. Just have to take every precaution you can and keep your head up.
  10. There isn't much room I"m thinking to mount stuff on that bike.... The GPS has to be exposed to the signal, but I'm wonering if there is some way to mount it on the bitch seat or something kind of out of the way but where you won't be interrupting the signal. I think its going to be a custom application to be honest.
  11. Happy birthday Scott! Gotta love those erections.
  12. I ran a longer line from the tank to the carbs once so I could run an inline fuel filter and that gave me so many damned problems I said fuck it. The line would run dry, and would take forever to fill up, or it would get kinked and I'd run the bowls dry... I figured if I was going to burn up a couple sets of rod bearings because of a lack of fuel/oil or something I'd take my chances on a few grains of sand.
  13. I agree. I am neither here nor there. I feel that the HQ is much much deeper than what group A thinks of group B and vice versa. If someone is an asshole to me, rips me off well, thats a bit different. I'm here to learn and help out when I can. And yes sometimes 3 months and 500 pages, 15000 posts and 200000 page views of nonsense later it all works out and the boobies get posted again. **EDIT** sumpin I forgot to add.... I don't think there is tie between an interaction and a dynamic between 2 people, and you doing your job as a moderator. You are who you are. I haven't seen anything moderation wise that warrants you being removed as a moderator in my opinion. I haven't even seen any closed or deleted threads for no reason at all. The HQ is a far cry from what that stupid Team Dunes was.
  14. Looking for some (more than one set) of swingarm pivot caps (the big caps with the seal n shit) and the bolt that bolts the shock to the upper mount, and the bolt that bolts the DOG BONE to the swing arm. They are both short bolts. I don't need any wishbone bolts. Lemme know what you got and how much plz.
  15. I aint played in years, but I have a hand made cue my best buddy sent me while he was doin time in Las Cruses NM..... And I can swim.
  16. He better bring his A game.
  17. Or the alternative. Around here in the summer about 3 bikes per week are wrecked. Not just laid down, but destroyed. I'm sure there are a few good engines and parts waiting in a junk yard somewhere.
  18. The main reason for not using the hayabusa is this.... cbr engine = $500-$1200 hayabusa = $3000 and up Its worth it if you can get ahold of one though.
  19. The engine basket in a banshee frame is around 15" tall, and my 600 is 24 inches tall, unless I want the oil pan to hang down 3-4 inches, then I can get away with about 20" of frame height. Thats why I built my own frame from the ground up. I hope to build a frame jig to build a frame to accept street bike engines. Just have to get this project done first to see if its worth while and how easy/hard its going to be.
  20. I used to get that quite bad. I even encountered an orthodontist that said "I don't see any problem" when I DESCRIBED TMJ and that I had problems! What solved my problem with TMJ was I quit gritting my teeth when I was lifting, and I got rid of some stress that caused me to grit in the middle of the night. It got so bad at one point I slept with a corner of a blanket in my mouth to cushion my teeth against one another. Now I don't really every have problems unless I chew alot of gum...I mean I have to chew gum all day long but its never as bad as it was when I was gritting my teeth all the time.
  21. Yep. I think my wife is the only one that actually enjoys a stock bike. Anything else is too much for her. She can still ride like a maniac and keeps up great though. But the first thing I think of when I see a new bike, or anything new, is what can I do to make it better. They NEVER make it perfect from the factory. Thats why machine shops exist. I dont know if I dare ask, but are 450's trail friendly?
  22. Later on in the day when I have more time I"m going to see if that formula holds true to other bikes like an ATC 70 n shit.
  23. Its amazing how cheap that guy at Trail Tech can make stuff. Most of the time his prices are damn near my material costs.
