  1. This should be in the Roostin Room and THIS should be in General Discussion.
  2. I got in the box o' o-rings at the shop, found one for the diameter of the steering shaft, cut it with a razorblade for a really clean edge. I had to kind of force it into the clamp blocks, but after greasing everything, clamping it all back together, my steering is as smooth as a babys ass.
  3. hehehe....well, you'll have to let us know how that goes. Good to hear you got good results!!! Shaving the head and flywheel were the some of the best mods for the money I have ever done. That and hacking off the stock airbox.
  4. HAHAHA I almost had one last year. Instead I got a "rifle" I don't even know where the damn thing is at. I'm kinda scared to even have it in my truck incase "the man" pulls a brother over and I get popped over a $15 2x4. I would say get 2 of them. Build forts out of couch cushions, and when your wife "invades" (to tell you 2 to knock it the hell off) you can go on the defense together and push the invader back to the kitchen. If she's bringing you sandwiches, I wouldn't shoot right off hand.
  5. its BIG BROTHER is on the way???? You gonna polish that one too??? You're gonna be a really fast bright flash when you're out riding man....
  6. A fuel injected and turbo charged!!! Thats kinda cool. That would make "jetting" a lot less of a nightmare, and would alleviate that lean runaway melt down condition you can get while setting up a turbo.
  7. Naw, after I read what I posted, and then realized it looks like I was going both weekends....I was/am too damn tired to change it. I hope to be there March 4th through the morning of the 7th.
  8. TAKE ALONG YOUR PRESCRIPTION OF CELEBREX. just kidding. So, is that a total of 46 miles? or 23 miles? or is my 13" monitor too small for 1024 resolution and its really 2.3 miles? I'd run a taller gear if there isn't a lot of hills to climb, for the sake of mileage. You can always down shift, but if there is an open space to fire it up, why not make the gears a little taller? I've never raced desert, other than 2 drag races out at The Knolls on some salt flat/desert floor type ground. I nearly looped out, and almost ran over my buddies wife because she stopped, and I started walking to the right on my rear tires. The other one I ran out of top end running 13/44.
  9. That shit out in Pahrump looks like it would get dusty in a hurry, and mucky if it ever thought of raining out there. And the women are nasty.
  10. My dad started the machine shop when I was 4. We do it all, or atleast try to. Fab, production, prototype, maintanence, design, etc. Over the last 2-3 years we've spent something like $25K+ in just maintanence. When I started DDI I kind of figured I wouldn't need to buy that much. WRONG! Even after 26 years, I still didn't have the tooling I needed to work aluminum that way. In this business there is so much involved, its overwhelming. I've been doing this for over 10 years now, and I still have to ask my dad to show me how to do something everynow and again. If your just buying a lathe and mill to tinker with, and you don't have to depend on them to pay your bills, thats cool. Its kind of a better way to do things, than to be sitting there wondering what the hell you're going to eat that week after you've spent $500-$1000 on tooling that can be hidden in your hand.
  11. I heard about that. I guess I'm kinda normal
  12. Yeah you are weird. I used puree'd bananas.
  13. I think I read about that.... He found some dumbass willing to be killed and eaten. I thought I read in the story that the guy was stabbed in the chest 37 times or something. Germany I think it was...8 1/2 years in prison is what the cannibal got. I'll try to find a reputable news link. .......yeeeeeeesh...... I don't know if this stands as credible, but here ya go!!! http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040130/D80D8SHG0.html
  14. LOL! I'd like to see...no I wouldn't, but still the mental imagery of some guy with his own arm up his ass to his shoulder would be quite a feat. One day, he's sitting on the porch, next ot his old hound dog watching the traffic go by when he pulls out his trusty pocket knife and starts whiddling away. I'd hate to see everything thats "out there". I'd never be the same person again I have a feeling.
  15. Yep, Just a bunch of retards when it comes to cutting stuff up. I'd say put your banshee in a machine shop filled with monkeys. Come back in a week, and they'd have it done better than anyone else here.
  16. YOURE WELCOME!!!! When I take my axle out while I'm messing around with these swingarms and carriers I build, I don't even take the tire off of the hub. I do it NASCAR style. One nut undone, and the whole tire is off. Takes seconds. If I ever get a seperate set of tires, I might just get another set of hubs too. Just leave the tires fastened to the hubs.
  17. Me and my wife love my dick too much to do something like that!!!! Spooky shit to be honest. I'd hate to see what the dude does for fun. Maybe goes in for a prostate exam? Maybe he backs into the finger rather than clinching.
  18. I knew of the Banshee since 87, but I was only 13 then, and couldn't afford it. Then one day some friends of mine showed me pictures of what they had been doing at the dunes. One picture of my buddy, pulling a nearly verticle wheelie sold me. Never rode one. Never heard one. Never even sat on one. I went to the dealer after about 2 months of thinking about it, and bought it. Never regretted a minute of it!!! You could say I have the disease Nyuk has, just don't have the cash to support an addictive habit yet.
  19. I used to have a problem with one paddle on one tire being down when there was an empty spot on the other. If this happens, take the hub nut off of the axle, pull the whole thing off of the splines, then rotate it to where its even, then bolt it up. Remember though if you take the rim and tire off, it may only work if it goes back on in that same position.
  20. I might just have my mommy or my wife wrap me in 1/2" bubble wrap, a few layers thick. I got to keep you guys from popping them somehow. Cool deal man.. I'll get to check out some gear, and I think it will help me decide what to buy this summer.
  21. I just lift up the ass end, and push it into the back of the truck. I don't think it will kill your paddles to ride a short ways on something firm. Its when you are hauling ass on a surface that is harder than sand. Think about it. 30mph, that paddle hits the ground a lot harder than at 3 mph.
  22. Dune Devil Inc.
  23. LMFAO I don't know how to crochet. My knees do great in the gym. I press 700 to 790 most leg days (shooting for an even 1000 one day) but I'm worried about the shock of landing a jump. I usually wear 2 or even 3 pairs of socks and that has helped in the past before I wrecked. I dont have riding boots or riding pants anymore, so what type of knee guards should I use? I'm not going to have the cash for new riding gear except probably the knee cups/guards. I could at least do that, and get the hi tech super moto shit later. Hell I got stock shocks. A long jump for me is around 15-20 feet in distance and maybe 4-5 feet in the air. When I get all this riding gear, I'm gonna look like some sort of giant cockroach.
  24. Yep, thought about that. She'll be there.....it'll give me something to do for the rest of the weekend if i run out of fuel..... ..... good plan otis "Man Doesn't Live On Sand Alone"...... Mine are staying at home So I'm going to be living on sand and cereal bars that weekend.
  25. Things kinda turned bad for me. I'm exploring other options on getting cash together to go. Found out I can't E-File my damn taxes, so its going to be 7-10 weeks before my refund gets here, CC's have like $500 on them that I can use. It might get better tomorrow though..... Anyway here is what I'll be driving in if shit stops raining on me. Blue '98 Chev Z-71 ext. cab long bed, Utah plates lol. Orange (and white, black, chrome and unchromed) banshee. Gonna try to leave this place as early as possible, say around 4:30-5am on thursday. That puts me down there at around 2-3pm.
