So called Assult Weapon ban over!
Cotton eyed Joe replied to rebelbanshee2's topic in General Banshee Discussion
DING DING DING!!!! I think you just won something..... I used to, and probably will again before I get outta this hole, have neighbors that were drug dealers. I don't mean selling weed. I mean every fuckin 15 minutes 24 hours per day a car or sometimes 2 were pulling up, people would get out, leaving the engines running, stick around for a minute tops and then leave. From the day they moved in until the day the cops came for the 3rd time (about 3-4 months) and took their kid, and then impounded their cars and then took their sorry asses to jail. At the same time 3 houses down it was nearly the same thing. A little more low key, but those fuckers would walk infront of my house eye balling me. I had some fuckin 14 year old punk eyeballing me one day. I said "What you gonna do?" and he just kept walking. I had no idea if some asshole was going to see my banshee in the garage, or wait for us to leave to rob us, or even come in through a window in the middle of the night. I had my gun hidden but I'm glad I had it where I could get to it if I needed it. My parents who are nearly in their 60's have had the same problems, except my dad has lived in that house since he helped his dad build it when he was 16 and there was nothing but corn fields and dirt roads. One day about 2 years ago, his neighbors were eye balling him to the point that they would literally stand there and stare at him for 5 minutes. So he made it a point to start wearing his shoulder holster and his .45. It took 2 days of that, just seeing my old mad with his gun for them to leave him alone. Hell he had it because he wasn't so sure what they were up to, and you get 4 assholes staring you and your company down everytime you're in the back yard you know somethings either up, or going to come up. 3 houses down from their house someone broke in beat the homeowners, tied them up, beat them again and then robbed them. It starts to hit home how important it is to either A: Be able to afford to live in a gated community, or B: have something simple to help you out in a situation. However living in a good neighborhood doesn't always cut it. Every now and again you hear about the robberies near the ski resorts in the $500,000 homes and condos. Where better to rob than where the money is right? -

Exactly. I've always been the "nicer" guy. And in those situations the person either didn't pay good enough attention to what they were doing, and all in all it was an honest mistake. Its when someone deliberately invades my personal space in a threatening manner, attacks me verbally or is just being a general cock is when I have almost no chance of containing whats on my mind, and honestly I should stick up for myself. Drawing a gun should always be the last--VERY LAST--resort in any situation, and that situation should always be: Is this person/situation going to cost me my life? If the answer is yes, then I've made up my mind I don't want to die yet. I'll do what I can, and if I make it out alive great!!!! Bonus points. -

My dad takes his when he's out on the road on the way to his cabin. He was in a situation once where he thought that he might actually need it as well. A deserted highway being harassed by hillbillies in an old beat up Ford pickup with 4 mismatched tires and a base ball bat in the gun rack, is not where you want to be when its just you and your wife. Me personally I guess I'm just lazy as I've never taken the class. A place down the street from me has a class every wednesday night. I might do it if I can ever afford another gun thats a little easier to conceal than the one I have now. -
where did my air filter go
Cotton eyed Joe replied to pimpeinkc's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Duct tape and WD-40. If that don't work, zip ties. If for some STRANGE reason that doesn't work, your shit outta luck. -
I like how you put that I liked that alot as well. Just keep it inside, and rather than tell him, SHOW him when you're crossing the finish line on two wheels and the dirt is just starting to hit the ground at the starting line.

LOL Glad you liked that. If you want a higher capacity magazine, tape 2 standard post-ban magazines together, except with one upside down. Run out of ammo because the hippies keep coming?? Just pop it out, flip it over.... lol... Duct tape makes everything better. -

A-2 Carbine, and its on sale for $748 at this place about 2 miles from my house. I would love to get this for Christmas. Maybe the company can buy it as "security" or something. And now I can also get a clip that holds more than 7 rounds. What fun is it to go shooting (targets is all I shoot. No hippies or critters. I like to shoot steel plate) and have to reload every 20 seconds? AND what the hell were they thinking about the folding butt stocks and the bayonette clips? I could duct tape a damn bread knife to the end of a rifle that I've modified the butt stock in my shop with the saw. Law abiding citizens don't commit crime. I just want to enjoy my time at the range when I get the off chance to go. -
You don't beat on things with a hammer? It don't fix shit but you feel 1000x better about the situation.
-
Holy carp 808!!!! Sounds like you had one hell of a season. I hope next season goes a lot smoother. I guess you've paid your dues all at once.

a little anal are we? YES! lol Only because I knew someone once that did theirs with a hacksaw blade and a case of beer. It didn't look good at all. We gave him shit about it for years. It might have taken me 15-20 minutes to get satisfied with the tape line and another 15 to cut it. Sanding it was a chore, but it the quality is there I think.

ENOUGH OF THE OPRAH!!!!

I used masking tape, as I hate using electrical tape because I can't cleanly tear the shit. I also made a quick guage to mark how far over I was laying the tape from the fender. I used a simple piece of string. I would tape it to the edge of the fender, then mark where it was on the fender rear, then I did the other side, then I did the very front edge of the rears, left and right. Then I laid the tape down, looked at it from 100 different angles to make sure they were even as well. Then I got out the 3" cut off. You don't want to be in the line of fire when you're cutting with one of those. I had melted plastic on my face hands arms..you name it and THE SHIT IS HOT! I cut on the outside of the tape so I didn't lose my place. When I was done, there were some rough lines where the wheel didn't get perfectly straight, so I used the wheel to smooth it a little. When that was done, I put some 180 grit in a block sander and started smoothing the edge. I worked my way to 600 grit and then started rolling over the sawed edge to soften it a little. I think it turned out pretty good for my second time, and my first time worked out just as well. Just have to put some thought and planning into it.

I thought the only thing Oprah was good for was entertaining the house wives and giving them something to bitch about when the men folk come draggin ass home from work. Congratulations!

Looking into buying a rebuild bike.
Cotton eyed Joe replied to layshea's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Personally I'd get the bike. For $600 who cares whats wrong with it. AND DO NOT OVER LOOK THIS NEXT PIECE OF ADVICE----------> Get a Clymers Manual and read it cover to cover before you crack a single nut or bolt loose on that bike. There is quite a bit there than can be trashed by digging around. Some things would cost more than $600 to fix. Also, invest in a quality set of tools (Metric of course) a good torque wrench, and the best piece of advice: Stick around BansheeHQ. Dont forget to use the Search function. -
LMFAO I invented turning left and right. Basically everyone just drove straight, and then they had to get off, adjust the direction by picking up the rear of the bike and moving it. Originally my design was to have a big pivot come down in the middle of the bike but it proved cumbersome at anything over 2mph. I also tried a device that allowed me to remove air from the tires on either the right or left side, but not long after I was riding on rims.

LMFAO Already have one or else I'd be all up on the autographed PS2!

then stfu dont bitch if you arent gonna do anything about it. thats the most rediculous thing ive heard here so far. I dunno, I thought the psychic thing was pretty much in left field... actually more like out side Fenway near the hot dog cart or the parking lot attendants booth.

I don't agree with sending everything over seas, but its the CEO's that run those companys that need to realize what they are doing. About the only way the President could keep the jobs here would be to embargo goods from China, Tawain, Mexico, Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc..... I'm guilty of supporting it as well. We have bought some Chinese endmills that are roughly 2 dollars each.... But we use 3 of them per job. We still make money because the American made endmill that will do the same job costs nearly $70.00 and thats the cheap American shit. We buy it when the job has enough money in it for us to, or if the quality of the finish requires it though. Its a tough call on stuff like that. I bought an indexable drill that is 1.6785 in diameter, and has 6" LOC. It was $680 or so. I want a 3/4" dia 4"LOC indexable and its over $400. I can get a Chinese 2 flute HSS 4" LOC for $17.00 or a Putnam for $30.00. Depending on the job, I might get the American tool because of the quality. I know its going to work. But if I crash it, I'm screwed. If I crash the Chinese endmill I don't even blink. I'm not sure I or anyone else has a solid answer on how to keep more stuff here, but not gouge the hell out of everyone. Thats the one reason you hear people say "over priced billet" when they talk about billet items... they are over priced, but for a reason. Foriegn purchases of our scrap is going through the roof. My aluminum chips sell for 24 cents per pound, and 2-3 years ago they were 48 cents per pound. I have 2 tons of it at the shop that I've had for 3-4 years or more. But at the same time my mill bars and rounds have nearly doubled in price. Same with A36, 1045, 4130 and 4340. All are nearly double in price to purchase and the scrap is nearly worthless. It does hurt every industry, but at the same time its damn hard to pass up a deal on something that might be a less quality item, but the price is insanely cheap.

One person does not dictate what the economy does. The economy is created on the backs of the working people.

Banshee Accidents, What Body Part Did You Break ?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to xt45's topic in General Banshee Discussion
No broken body parts. Plenty of sprains and strains. Knees, ankles, wrists, feet, shoulders, hands, left thumb, neck, ribs, bruised internal organs, bruised chin, black eyes. Flew off a dune. Landed verticle at the bottom. I just clicked 3rd gear. Not clicked 3rd gear, got more familiar with the terrain before going that fast.
