i really like factory the best but for my last project i had to go aftermarket. i had to have fenders and i wanted silver, which they dont make factory. i went with the new style maier plastic. i can say that i am happy with it. the only thing that didnt fit like stock was right aroundthe tank. its not very noticeable tho. ufo u can only get blue, black, white and red i think. fullbores are nice but expensive, and they dont come with full fenders. if you want a color that is made from the factory, i would go with stock plastic. otherwise give the new maiers a try. here is a pic of mine with the new maier silver.

if i were you i dont think id attempt it. i dont think you realize the power of a cr500. you better get some riding time in on a 125 and a 250 before you take on a cr500. im pretty sure youd have a better chance living wrestling with a 12 foot croc.

go to rockymountain atv and get the tie rod ends. you can get a pair(inner and outer) for 22 bucks.(stock is 45 a piece i think) they are from tusk off road. i have some and i like them.

i let mine sit for as long as it takes to get the side cover off. then they go in. if you have a stock clutch remember to take the little rubbers out. you dont need them with the aftermarket clutch.

yea i do. i have posted picture of it up here before. if you do a search with cr500 banshee in it, im sure you could find some pics. how did you like the 500 in your 250r frame? i bet it bolted up easier than mine. i had to make all 4 mounts. starting mine is no big deal for me, but theres no way a person that weighed 110 could start it. its got really high compression. i sent the cylinder to eric gorr and he did some work on it its a beast. right now its down because i have oil gettin into the crankcase from somewhere. im splitting the cases this week to see what the deal is.

if you arent in desperate need of it, wait until winter to have it done. that way who cares if your bike is down. but if you do it, i would send it to him and let him do it all.

I new a guy that raced a 250r and had a banshee. He bought a cr500 and sold it about 1 month later saying it was too much for him. people that ride with me always wanna ride my cr500 banshee. i tell them if you can start it then you are man enough to ride it. so far only 2 people have ridden it. they are one hell of a powerful bike. all it takes is a split second and you can get hurt really bad.

i gaurantee i could easily spank one on my yfz450. and hes got 200cc's on me even. displacement doesnt always matter.

haha yep. if his beat up ol cr500 runs halfway decent you are done for. the cr500 has a ton of power and will easily eat up highly modded banshees when completely stock. my buddy has a fast cr250 thats been ported. he walks on my banshee with no problems. my dads 2001 cr500 is completely stock. it will easily walk on my buddies cr250. man you had better hope it runs very very bad or that he doesnt have a clue as how to ride it. haha even if he doesnt know how to ride it, he could still very well pull on you.

id stay with a stock cable. i run a sunline perch and lever and i like it a lot. no problems with it. as for the carbs i would have them bored. itll prolly cost you around 30 to 50 per carb.

Just curious how you worked that deal, my buddy called yesterday and he is 21 and he was quoted like 9500 a year for a 954. i wanna know also. ive called before and they wanted like 3500 a year. i wanna know how you only pay 83 a month.

i like my pro circuit pipe and silencer on the cr500 banshee. sounds good, looks good and so on. i have never really been a fan of fmf pipes and silencers.

I had never seen so much immature behavior before I visited BT. There is almost absolutely no useful info on BT (other than rccars, guns and shit). Id like to see someone get thru an entire rebuild only using BT. It can easily be done here. Our so called "old farts" know so much about Banshee's they can answer any questin one might have about them. BT members, admin, and mods should only be so lucky to have some of our members come there. If people see that there are knowledgable members there it will draw them back time and time again. This in turn generates sales for sponsors and such. Here at BansheeHQ we don't have to carry on about who sponsors are and all that. We know who makes this and that and who can modify this and that. They don't need to pay for recognition. Anyone here that helps someone out is greatly appreciated and they are rewarded with people who look up to them and help them with their own projects even. There is no personal treatment at BT. When you come here it feels like a family. We know each other, we know each other's bikes and we have a good time talkin about it. It's really unfortunate that people at BT don't realize how much more productive it would be if instead of whining and crying about certain things, they would just get out and do something about it. It's also really unfortunate that people are banned for having an opinion. At least here we can say what we feel, even if it's not the "trendy or cool" thing to say. Hey I wish my site admin would change my name if I called someone a name! Get real.
