  1. i generally use some KY warming gel or some Vaseline if its around. otherwise i just spit at it.
  2. you need some NOS to beat a craptor.
  3. i think banshees are gay.
  4. are the plugs wet or dry? are you sure youre getting good spark? also, like badassbanshee said, what color is the smoke? have you ever had the engine apart?
  5. yes most def grind the paint off where the coil mounts to. id say it def sounds electrical but you could clean the carbs for good measure. have you tried a stock coil on it to see if that makes a difference?
  6. is it sucking coolant in? check your radiator and see if your coolant level has gone down. you check all your grounds to make sure you have them to bare metal? bad grounds will cause this. on my old cr500 banshee it was breakin up on the top end. ended up being a fouled plug. it would run fine until i hit WOT and then it would break up bad. just some ideas to add to your confusion.
  7. first, the 30 pilot you have is too big. you need a 27.5 in there. once yo get it idling well with the 27.5 do a wide open throttle plug test to check your mains. im guessing 300 is about right but you may need to go up or down one size.
  8. take a towell and lay in on the seat hook up by the gas tank. then take a hammer and tap on it. tap a few times and try your seat until its good and tight.
  9. what color is the smoke? does it smell like gas and oil mix or something else? what premix do you run (fuel/oil ratio) and what oil?
  10. nah you should be fine. one big thing i go for in my hillclimbs is a good hard launch. i ran that 4mm motor with 35mm carbs and never had issues gettin off the line very hard. gearing and tire pressure also play a part in this but youre not gonna lose anything by going to the bigger carb. if anything youll more than likely gain. right now, youre not even seeing the full potential of your 4mm motor with those small carbs. also, you might wanna look into a lockup to make sure youre getting the power to the ground. the other thing you may benefit from in your flat track races is a duneable overide. makes it so you dont have to clutch to shift. this would be good on your starts. while your competition is backing off the throttle to shift, youll be bangin gears at wide open throttle...
  11. the laker customs look pretty sweet..
  12. well i had a drag ported 4mm setup, 35mm carbs, VF2's, rocket pipes, +7 timing, Noss head with 21 cc domes, 170 pounds compression, port matched cases, FAST clutch with NO lockup.. it made 77hp and 43 ft lbs of torque. your setup is pretty similar except for the carbs. you might even see more than 70 but id say 65 would be your lowest. goin with a bigger carb is prolly a good idea with a 4mm anyway. youll gain with 35's...
  13. i never torque anything..
  14. i use 97 cent wal mart black spray paint. ive never had a grip come off.
  15. hahaha..nahhh. i just hadnt seen the thread yet..im really excited for the 2008 banshee to come out. ive already got my order in at the dealership  i resemble that remark!!
  16. im guessin about 65 to 70 hp. about 40 ft lbs of torque..
  17. yfz450...
  18. i would say no. ive bent stronger swingarms than that just hittin the 4 foot jumps at our hillclimbs. i wouldnt trust that thing jumpin at all.
  19. id go with dual keihin 33mm pwk. then if you upgrade to a 4mm youll still have a big enough carb for the 4mm motor.
  20. i think outerwares fuckin suck.. only time i run them bitches is in the sand. ive had them get clogged with dirt before.. anyway, i know i didnt contribute much but i just wanted to say outerwares suck.
  21. looks pretty good!! what project you building? an actual 250r?
  22. call FAST 1-785-364-5325. jeff will have them in stock for sure.
  23. FEDEX!!!! i shipped a craptor motor across the country in a duct taped up box full of towells around it for $60.. and i took a frame to them one time, no wrapping, no nothing and they sent it to wyoming for $75 i think. for comparison.. ups wanted $250 to ship that craptor engine. and i know a banshee engine weighs nowhere near a craptor motor..
  24. id personally go with toomey t5's over either of those pipes.
