  1. i dont see why that wouldnt work. just drill it out to where it will stay on with a bigger bolt. sounds like you need a new kickstart gear assembly.
  2. ride it, but make sure you start shutting your fuel off when youre done riding. you need to get the needles fixed. it may require putting in a couple new ones. its no big deal, just need to get it done.
  3. dont waste your time. most street bike motors are way too tall for the banshee frame. you would need a raptor or yfz450 frame. also, the added weight on the motors really slows them down in atv frames. they need to be running hard and producing some big numbers to make it worth it. do yourself a favor and just mod your banshee. it will be lighter, easier to handle and easier to work on. ive done several conversion bikes. they are time consuming, expensive as fuck and harder to make work right.
  4. it wont even start without feathering the throttle, even with the choke on. boot is on tight. no leak there. i cant imagine that would make it not start though, even if it was.. pics of your girl will make me feel better!
  5. you can buy a 2000 and up banshee for nothing these days. here in the midwest, you can find perfectly good running banshees with some mods for less than 2 g's. then youll still have money left over to do things to it that you wanna do.
  6. i just had the valves checked last october.. this is a simple problem im overlooking. the bike ran perfectly fine 4 days ago, before i pulled the old piston out. it will start up and stay running as long as i feather the throttle. as soon as i let off it dies...
  7. those things are junk in anything loose.
  8. why do you think you need to change it? did it idle and run fine before??
  9. that jet should have little to no affect on it starting. that is the main jet. the pilot jet is what you need to be looking for. you will probably have to take the bowl off to get to it, as it sits off to the side of the main jet. what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
  10. im sure of it, but i cant figure out what..
  11. check the tabs that the coil bolts to. they need to be bare metal for the coil to ground properly.
  12. it better not be since i never took it out!! still doin the same thing. it will run as long as i feather the throttle.. as soon as i let off it dies.. no idle down slowly.. just dead.
  13. why the fuck didnt you post in the jacked and tan thread??!!!
  14. this is a good idea. starting fresh with all new parts will extend the life of all your clutch parts, especially the clutch. i run a magnum billet basket, stock inner hub and pressure plate. all came from FAST.
  15. if i was you, i would switch for something geared more towards high performance engines. klotz would be a good choice. what fuel/oil ratio are you running?
  16. 6 bolt homie!! hows the heat over there? you gettin to knock off anyone or just sit around and be bored??
  17. 150 per piston??!! thats fuckin insane. you can buy a set of wisecos, with pistons, rings, clips and bearings for not much more than that. 2 of them even!
  18. update nukkas... the bike will start up and run, but only when i feather the throttle. it sounds fine while its running.. but it wants to die as soon as i let off the throttle. i cleaned out the carb. jets are all clear. float is not sticking. fuel flowing out well...
  19. welcome to HQ  glad you found the search function. almost every topic has been covered here. if for some reason you cant find something, start a new thread.. you will get answers.
  20. its bolted in the same spot it came from the factory, where the bracket holds the clutch cable on. i didnt move it. its not on the cylinder or head. its bolted to the back of the case. the cable isnt even long enough to get to the chain cover bolt.
  21. he doesnt get on here much anymore. hes lost a little interest in riding since he broke his wrist at the dunes in 2007. he still hillclimbs, but thats about it.. hes still runnin his rockets on a 4mm cub motor.
  22. youve come this far, why stop now? have them ported. you arent gonna get 3-8 hp for $300 anywhere else.
  23. the FAST clutch setup works great on a wide variety of motors.. i have to ask though, have you checked your other clutch components? they could be worn, which will cause problems too. how old is your motor? if you replace a clutch and not worn clutch parts, you will sooner than later be ruining the clutch.
  24. the bike ran fine before i took it apart. i seriously doubt in the few hours i had rebuilding it the ignition went out.. i mean, thats not likely right? i didnt have any starting issues beforehand, so theres no reason that it just sitting there something wouldve gone bad. Bobby, ill give it a try here in a few and let you know something..
  25. i wouldnt run yamalube at all. what kinda oil are you running? im runnin klotz at 50:1.
