The originals built by Tom Borrink are the best ones. My brother and me bought the first two sets off the production line back in about 2003 or 2004. We ran them on a ton of motors. The company switched hands so many times since then that the dies were lost or destroyed, as I was told.

My hillclimb bike used to only have front brakes. Once I built the 18DM I decided I needed to put the rear back on. That pound or so that you're saving isn't worth it if you need to stop.

ASV F3 shorty all the way. I have 6 stiff springs and a lockup and have no problem two finger clutching my shit. Anyone who says a shorty is too hard to pull in is either 12 year old girl weak, has a shitty worn out cable or improper setup.

Real simple.. Rear brakes are about 20% of your stopping power. Only running the rear is going to cause the caliper to work way harder than it should be. It will probably overheat, get hot and warp. I wouldn't be surprised if your brake fluid gets hotter than hell too. These bikes are meant to have front brakes as well. I wouldn't rely on any rear brake set up to stop me like the fronts will.
