They have developed a minor amount of what appears to be surface rust under them. It's barely noticeable on the bike. Where the linkage bolt goes through is slightly out of round. I am assuming from pressure from landings. It never caused an issue. There is some chain rub on the side. Good bearings. I ran them on my Banshee with Laeger LT arms in October for the BHQ ride. They WILL bolt up, but may need a washer or two to make them work. We've broken 3 kick start gears from kick back on our 18DMs. As long as you kick them all the way through the stroke there's no issue. Half assing it causes a hurt foot!

I am curious as to what pipes were used on the winning bikes. J-Madd would probably have a good idea. Most of the 700cc+ bikes most likely had something custom built I'm guessing.

If they don't have stainless foot pegs I wouldn't waste your time. You'll wear that aluminum down in no time. I'm not sure if AC still makes them or not, but their stainless pro pegs kick ass. I have a set on my YFZ and they're in perfect shape after 7 years.

If you're hearing the popping noise, you need to inspect your sprockets and chain tightness. I've never run a tensioner with my +14, but some people swear by them.
