  1. The only reason Yamaha is still making the banshee is because it paid for itself a long time ago and the profit margin is huge on it.If its sale numbers would have dwindled years ago,it would have got the AXE!So be grateful that people continued to buy them. There will be no updates, because its destined for the choppin block. I ride with a KFX 700,My friend an I talked his father into getting one.At 55 years old he decided to get into ATV's,boy was he in for a surprise. He thinks its peppy right now,I told him to wait until we do the clutch work to it.If that thing had a 5-speed,I'd buy one in a minute! As far as Bracket racing goes Banshee#48,you should be kicking everyones ass,We don't do any bracket racing over here, mostly heads up for about 100-150 yds.So its hard for them to run on the top-end.The Kawie is a good machine, but the auto tranny ruined it for me.
  2. Naa,now I couldn't do that, cause then you actually might have the slightest chance to beat me. Those Belt drive trannies suck. Now the new Honda 650 has a "Good"automatic transmission.Too much is lost in Kawasakis drive system.
  3. What happen to you,did you fall out?
  4. What happen to you,did you fall out?
  5. Depending how tight you pack the silencer.you can slightly alter the way the pipe comes on. A tighter packed silencer will favor top-end,while a loosely packed silencer will favor bottom end. It made a very noticeable difference on my 125 dirtbikes,I don't know what it will do for the Banshee.
  6. It might have 50 h.p at the flywheel, but it only puts out 32 to the rear wheels stock and max out around 65-67mph.Even with the clutch kits, the auto tranny sucks and is not very versatile. You either set it up for max torque or max horsepower, there isn't a clutch kit that gives you both.I owned 4x4's so I have experience with these kits.with the right clutch I can see it doing 75mph,but it ain't winning no races in 300 ft. As for Lectro99,My banshee may be no match for your Alky powered shee, but I'll give you a shot at my Cr500r,You best have 90+h.p or I'll beat you down like the punk you are. Banshee#48,no hard feelings, but you did come to a banshee site talkin smack about a Kawie.Sometimes it happens but its all in good fun.
  7. Well,Well,Well...Now the V-force has pipes,a clutch kit etc.Maybe you need to go back and change your post where you mentioned that your V-Force is STOCK! I never said you were a punk kid,or ever implied it.Im just teling you what I know.I've raced V-Forces,including an Mx machine that looked like Swiss sheese. I destroy them.If you know "how" to drag race a banshee, then no V-force or any 4stroke should get you out of the hole. After that the race is over cause theres no catching a banshee.Your best bet is to get the holeshot and try to fend off a huge closer. For bracket racing, its a different story.I could see the V-force winning alot of races because consistencey counts,"But running with modified banshees and Zillas?"I think you might have jumped out there a little with that statement......And remember suckers jump up to get beat down. I don't recall ever stating that people of maine can't ride, just the one guy that you beat one night on his banshee. He was probably wearing lace panties, but nobody knew
  8. All I have to say Banshee #48 is there is only two reasons your V-force is faster than your shee... The first being you have no idea how to drag race a shee. You are probably the "guy" who gets stomped on by z400's and 400ex's.Then I have to hear those same guys talkin shit about how they can beat banshees on their 400's.Whatever. The second reason being,Your a wuss, take off the dress and race like a man.Let me tell you something, even when my shee was stock,I made sure I knew how to race it before I jumped out there and got beat down. You guys need to learn that a banshee is only as good as its rider. I can see how you think an automatic would be quicker and would get a better holeshot, but thats not the case.Stock for stock, the V-force is giving the shee about 100lbs and a couple of horsepower. Not to menton they top out around 65mph. Have any of you guys heard about Power to weight ratios? The V-force was mathmatically eliminated before the race even began.
  9. The cold weather won't do anything, but the condensation will build up in the engine if your garage gets warm enough and the engine remains cold.I usually fog the cylinder if I don't plan on stating it all winter.
  10. I stomped one with pipes and it was gutted for motocross. Not even close,he hung on for about 2 gears and I opened up about 10 lengths on him by the time I hit 5th. 32 h.p stock and 500lbs,You do the math.
  11. Whats the deal with your FrankenShee have you had much seat time on it?How does it do in a drag race? If your proto type holds up,I just might try it with a 93' CR500r and a 96' shee.Did you have to custom make anything else besides the motor mounts?
  12. The thing I notice on trails the most is it seems like it will pull a higher gear ,but only around a small rpm range towards the bottom of the rpm.Thats the only place that the pipes like to be luggd. The T-5 hits wayy to hard for any kind of leisure riding IMO,PC or SST would be a better all around pipe. They both have a good hit on top and the PC's bottom is o.k, the SST on the other hand is excellent.
  13. Do some of the high rent shocks really make a difference?I mostly trail ride my shee, occasionally I'll tackle a big jump or two. Is the ride quality really that different,or does it just come down to handling big jumps.I would like to increase the trailability of my shee. Can anyone recommend a setup?
  14. I am currently running the exact same setup with the addition of compression and timing. Depending on the airbox lid setup, you'll be between 300-330 on the mains and about 1/2 to 1 turn out from bottom on the screws with 27.5 pilots If your gonna run a full lid or vented one, you'll definitely need to move the needle, but not the 4th clip from the top?More like the 2nd.The V-force reed cages make the pro-circuits super rich in the mid.You want to raise the clip up one notch from stock which will drop the needle. If you plan on running no lid, then don't hesitate to go 30 pilots and leave the needle in the 3rd clip(stock position.) Like I said it all depends on your airbox setup. I currently run 310mains/27.5pilots/needle 2nd clip from the top and 3/4 out on the screw My airbox lid has a four 1 inch vents in it.Jetted for 60-90v degrees
  15. The 13/42 gearing works real well with the 22 inch aftermarket tires. Its very close to 14/41 with 20 inch tires.
  16. Hey now!I'm from the cleveland area also.Lets not start talking about cities,Philly ain't no rose garden, its a dumphole too,so you guys don't have room to talk.Matter of fact the whole state of PA sucks. You can't buy beer in stores You have no say when it comes to new taxes, for example money for schools, city, etc. You can't drive a beater car, even if its not a beater, but just loks like one. Did they change that bullshit 55mph speed limit yet? Cleveland may not be a cherry, but at least I can go to the corner gas station thats no bigger than a phone booth and buy some brews. When they propose to build a new police station and school for only 50 millon, which is gonna cost the taxpayer 500 extra a year.I can vote NO and spend that 500 on my toys. Then some asshole hits my car and leaves, leaving me with a busted up car,At least I can drive my dented, rusting pile of junk untill I feel up to fixing it. I'm no foreigner to Pa,some of my good friends live there, but their laws suck. All of them.
  17. How could he?,he would have to stand on the head of a pin.
  18. Go out and get some foam to fill the spaces around the radiator or fabricate a plastic deflector for the shroud if you have not already.I got this tip from someone on this site,I think. Its alot cheaper than the inline cooler and will guarrantee a good 15-20 degree drop.I had two of those coolers and once the shee got hot, those things didn't do shit according to the gauge. But after I filled the space around the radiator,my shee never saw temps over 190 and after the impeller it rarely sees 190,even riding at slow speeds behind other quads. The air will find the quickest way out and thats around the radiator.
  19. Kick it till you achieve the highest reading.Mine reads about 15-20psi higher when warmed up a bit. Some say they hold the throttle open while kicking it over.It just takes a few extra kicks if ya don't. What part of ohio are you from?
  20. I don't care,at least it isn't like Atvconnection or Bluetraxx. Those moderators all ride different quads and if they dont like the conversation about the kind you ride or you give your opinion on what they ride, they don't hesitate to close the thread.Bunch of friggen crybabies if you ask me. At least here we all ride banshees and all information relates to banshees. I don't mind them filtering out the junk.It makes it easier to read the good posts.
  21. V-force are definitely worth the price. When it comes to low speed riding like woods/trails,they are definitely superior to any other reedcage. They are the best if your in the market to pick up some torque on the bottom.Ported reed cages are not the same as v-force,not when comparing low speed driveability
  22. I have a autometer automotive style mechanical gauge in a mounting cup.Its teed in right near the outlet of the head.On the hottest days it gets up around 190 but its normally anywhere between 140-160. Remember to fill the gap around your radiator cover so air cannot go around the radiator.I used some square block foam.I think it was 1 inch. The foam will not allow the air to escape around the sides and top of the radiator. This mod is easily worth 20% in cooling increase
  23. Thanks for the help guys,I'm gonna try the CR bend Boon, where did you get that stem? A raised and forward setup would probably feel perfect
  24. Can anyone recommend a good bend for woods riding.I'm about 6ft and I like to be able to stand and be comfortable.Been riding a ton and starting to get some pains in between the shoulders.I think a better bar will help. Any suggestions?
  25. Only the most hardcore trail riders can appreciate the 2 into 1 pipes.Riding a gear higher is never a problem, even on some steeper hills. Normally people don't "lugg" a banshee around like a 4stroke,but with these pipes,a banshee can "lugg" around like a 4stroke. You won't win many drag races with a 2 into 1,but if you like to trail you'll love the pipe.
