a 708hp busa will never last on the street let alone in the sand. a busa with a bilet 30mm output shaft and billet trans will only handle 500hp on the sand. A stock trans will only handle 325hp on sand. wicked. you dont need a PV motor for drag racing. They dont even cast cheetahs with PV's anymore.

you know that saying...there will always be somebody faster? keep building your twins, it keeps that quote alive! every part for a triple is off the shelf. All the way from cases to cylinders. Have i broke stuff? hell ya. why am i selling? to go bigger. i could be wrong, but ive never seen a twin go in the 3.4's off bottle. I think there was an 18 billet twin on a big shot in a rigid that tickled a 40

i can tell you a stock chassis isnt going to handle this motor...lol its a 14mm triple, 8 plate, straight cuts, custom racers edge based pipes, billet crankworks crank, direct drive locker, bearing support, billet water pump cover, stator cover, ect. like alcoholic said i have about 16500+ into this motor. there is a pic of it on here someplace. If you ask locogato really nice he may be able to find it for you.

i have a triple. did you have a chassis to put that motor in? If not it isnt worth the money. Im looking to build something new if you are interested in mine.

How was YOUR christmas?
Koolguyson replied to Rookie_of_the_year's topic in General Banshee Discussion
My christmas was pretty good. I ended up giving more then i recieved which is a pretty good feeling. I ended up with a cordless impact gun, some tools, clothes, a 60gig video ipod, and a lot of cash. Also got some misc. stuff for my x360 After that i bought myself a 37inch lcd hdtv now i need to find a good surround sound. -
a 2.7% defective rate was reported, which is lower then any other console debut. The problem they had was overheating and crashing. never eating discs though?
-
Forbes reports that microsoft loses 145 dollars on every 360 that is sold. That being said they make their money on accessories and games. The consoles themselves are actually very well priced. They have more technology inside them then 90% of the computer systems being sold right now. If you ever have the time you should read what these things have for power. The systems hold their value very well. take for example exactly a year ago. Every xbox was sold out, even though it was 3 years old at that time. They were going for retail and higher on ebay, even though they were becoming obsolete. I had to drive 2 counties over to get one for my step-brother, it was rediculous. If you want to bitch about something not holding its value...take a look at our quads

It is all personal opinion. Ive dealt with a lot of builders. They all have their times when they dont return calls or dont answer the phone. Heck Rudy Kurtz doesnt even make a phone call or answer a phone unless its a tuesday and thursday. But it doesnt take away the fact that when he does answer the phone he has great customer service. He is just that busy. Kurtz has been doing business since the 80's and if he felt it really mattered to have a secretary answer his calls then he'd have gotten one. Same with patriot. btw...a secretary wont be able to help you jet a bike...lol ok ok enough cheerleading by me...it isnt my style. Like i said, if you want a guy to answer the phone and still get a great motor K&T is the way to go. They are also the leading supplier of cubs right next to McCoys performance
-
Dan is sick right now for the past 4 days and wont be back into the shop until tomorrow. Maybe monday. Either way dan doesnt answer his phone because he always calls his customers back. he is a one man show. Guess it keeps his quality up and his quantity down. If you are just looking for somebody to answer the phone when you call id recommend K&T

basing your decision on who to build your motor off of price is foolish. Same for as how soon it arrives. Dan is one of 3 people that i consider in this industry that actually knows HOW a 2-stroke works and how to make them run. Even if Dan were a couple hundred dollars more it would be worth it to know an ethical man guy put it together that knows what he is doing

straight cut gears only take the side load off the bearing.
-
if its a true port magic motor even an 80hp raptor shouldnt "hand you your ass" rudy does good work and just call him and he will tell you how your motor is set up. His motors like cpi's and shearers, not t-5s. a 4mm needs to be reported and the domes re-cut

i have one as well.

#1 goes on the sprocket side, #2 goes on clutch side.
-
Planetsand is for drag racing. 2-strokes or 4-strokes that is what its purpose is. It isnt a mx, or a trails type forum.

cluch effects the powerband...no clutch no power. Strong clutch and postive traction. Scott, do you know how a wet clutch works in a banshee? If not, a basic pressure plate compresses against a set of 7 clutch fibers. The tension on the pressure plate is produced by a set of springs. The stiffer the springs the more pressure it puts against the clutch plates. So, if you have a stock clutch with stock plates and stock springs it will have less pressure against the clutches to keep it from breaking loose and spinning. A little thicker clutch plate with a better composite and stiffer springs on it will stick better. Also remember that the stiffer the springs the stiffer the clutch pull. Hope this helps

Jetting perfect but tons of smoke?
Koolguyson replied to northshoremb's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I run 32:1 both pipes smoke and spit oil equally? Reason being is if a crank seal goes out you will get trans oil in your crank case and your right plug will be darker in color -
Blown it up again!
Koolguyson replied to Rare Scottish Tree Badger's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
First, a plug comes loose because of detonation. A plug wont come loose unless the motor is knocking. It can happen, but is often rare for it to just back off for no reason. You banged up piston took a lot of abuse. The piston is melted and the top is beat up bad. This is caused by excessive heat. IMO you ran the motor tight, this caused the motor to detonate (that is the main piston damage on the crown) and then the pounding from the detonation caused the rod bearing to let go. Why do i think this? For one, when a bearing lets go the needle bearings smash everything, big chunks...little chunks...it all leaves big indentations. The markings on your piston are small pin pricks which is detonation. PLUS the piston is melted. This is detionation, then the crank failure. Check your squish for me. It will be tough now since that piston is so beat up. But put your head back on the motor. Tighten it up and torque it down with the head gasket on. Now take a peice of solder and stick it in your spark plug hole. have it bent so that the solder touches your cylinder wall. have the solder come to the left (or right) side of the cylinder but never front or back. Turn the motor over so that it presses the solder between the head and piston. Once you've done this take a pair of calipers (of veniers) and measure the thickness of the solder. This tells you how tight the piston to head distance is. Once you do this let me know where its set. If you need further instructions or more help PM me and ill walk you through it. I also see an EGT in your future. Long runs at WOT is tough on a motor and your jetting accuracy needs to be tripled. I do agree that your on/off mx riding will give you inaccurate plug readings.
