  1. Come on,,,,St. Louis isn't that far. Just think of the people you'd probably get to meet face to face. Me, Jack, probably Jim. How can you pass that up. I might toss in some $$$$ to win for people running Noss Heads
  2. I like Ronnies, Moto-Man, Magnolia for mail order
  3. What kind of rear tires are those?
  4. I don't know if this is a good price or not because I probably can't buy them as cheap as some of the big dealers but I can sell you the K&N YA-3502 and Outerwear for $47 plus shipping. Both new of course.
  5. Thanks! I appreciate it. I'd check it again and see where it is using the same guage.
  6. It's pretty straightforward. Get the cylinder tops clean, use some grease to hold the orings in place so they don't get pinched during installation, torque to 18-20 ft/lbs in a few steps using the same sequence as the stock head. Call me if you have any questions. -David
  7. Self-employment has its disadvantages. I don't have near as much hobby time as I used to. Flying - Private Pilot Skydiving Camping All types of ATV and Dirt Bike Riding - Dunes, Mountains, Trails Old Tractors
  8. 20 ft/lbs is plenty with the oring head. It seals a lot easier than the head gasket.
  9. The Noss head uses the stock studs so they don't have to be changed and it also has deflectors which direct the coolant for more even cooling. The dome depends on elevation, porting, timing, and the fuel to be used.
  10. Just to get my 2 cents in... Kelsey, I'm sure you build fast motors and know what you are doing. I'm also sure that there are a lot of engine builders that build motors slower, faster, and comparable to yours using similar and radically different methods. Your posts come across that you are the only one who has knowledge which can't be true. I've learned a lot over the past several years from reading Blair, Gorr, Turner, and others, and I've designed some chambers that aren't like anyone else's I've seen (although I must admit I haven't seen many designs). I intend to continue learning and trying innovative ideas. I don't agree with senseless bashing of people. I generally don't say (or type) much unless it is positive or productive in some way. I, like you, would rather not see posts like the one you are referring to. EVERYONE, Have a great Thanksgiving. All of us obviously have stuff to be thankful for. -David
  11. Take a look at Noss Machine HQ members get 10% off -David
  12. I don't really know how much compression a stock head gasket will take. All of my experience is with orings. ScottM, Patriot Racing and some others on the site mill stock heads and would have a better answer. Sorry to pass the buck.
  13. Before the BansheeHQ discount, the heads are $195 or $210 for anodized and the domes are $65. I charge a flat $6 for UPS Ground shipping in the 48 states. The dome size depends on your riding elevation, the fuel you want to run, and if the timing is advanced.
  14. 94BansheeRider, I know several builders and tuners in Tulsa. I thought maybe it was someone I know. I don't want to say much more here because I don't want to perpetuate any BS. Call me if you want. I'll tell you what I know and I'll admit what I don't know and refer you to someone in that case if you want. I work pretty closely with some very sharp and unpretentious builders and tuners. -David
  15. gumby, The head comes with orings, it doesn't require different studs. Pro Design domes will fit and probably others that I don't know about. I've been told Vitos domes will fit. Patriot Racing will make custom cut domes if you want and I sell 17cc thru 22cc domes. frocashmoney24, I look forward to hearing from you. SICK BOY, Thanks! I'm glad you like it
  16. I should probably just ignore the topic but I don't want anyone at BHQ to think I don't watch the board and try to be helpful. We'll see.
  17. That's why I said 94BansheeRider, I noticed your in Tulsa. Did someone in Tulsa do your porting? I'm just outside of Tulsa.
  18. I agree, your head must have been milled a lot to have that compression at 4400 feet. I'm curious what your chamber size is. With the mods you are talking about and the porting you have, an engine builder would be better qualified to answer your questions.
  19. Oilsmoke, Right now, 17cc is the smallest I make. I make stroker domes and base spacer plates so you can build it like you want. There are different opinions on which way is best. What size do you want?
  20. I charge a flat $6 for UPS Ground shipping for the 48 states. It costs a few bucks more than that but it keeps it simple.
  21. It's usually best to ask the person that did the porting for their recommendation since there are so many variables. I hate to pass the buck but I'd be guessing.
  22. Matt, The 'shipping' part of the web site doesn't know how to calculate shipping to Canada. It usually costs about $15 to UPS to Canada. I'll PM you on how to pay with the BansheeHQ discount. Advancing the timing is a inexpensive way to gain some performance. I don't know exactly how much it increases the tendency to cause detonation but I know it does some. I usually recommend the next larger size dome if someone is running advanced timing to be on the safe side. With pump gas, I would stick to 21cc domes under 1000'. You can use 20cc domes and may be fine but I try not to recommend something that MIGHT cause problems. -David
  23. I ran them that way, (the plastic one screwed on and sealed with silicone) until I started making them. Really, the main advantage of the metal one is that it won't bow and cause a leak and the filter is more secure because of the lip on the flange. The hole is matched to the airbox hole on the billet one. I never had any trouble with the inexpensive way.
  24. 21cc is as small as I would recommend for 94 octane, particularly with the timing advanced.
