Yeah true somethings things get over looked and do you think it's bec I dropped the Main from 300-290 I probably noticed the problem a week later

So I did the leak down test 6psi for 6 minutes. Had a leak around the boost bottle the metal clamp is stretched so I bent it to make it tighter. It passed the leak down figured it would be all good and nothing. Still has that bog when you lug it and it start to pull in its powerband its like a small hick up. I have 290 mains and stock pilots and the needle is on the second one up from bottom I had it in the middle but still the same any ideas? Btw idles great now that the carbs where synced. Thinking abt getting new clamps and just a cross over tube and then see what happens.

I did have to jb weld a spot before in the case under the crank and a little oil was coming from a stud I took the nut off the stud and but Yamaha bond haven't seen anything now all dry been dry for few weeks now

Ok and no would thinks it' could have an air leak?

So you'd recommend filing more off to get a better idle?

Alls I did was file the angle down flat like one of the guys in this forum recommended here's a pic

I tried the throttle carb it just moving more air into the engine

I did set the idle and the carb slides seem to be in sync. For just eyeing it. it just the readings don't seem right with one side being so off u kno and I bought that tool so I could try to get everything 100% do you think I may have an air leak maybe that's the only other thing that I can think of.

So today my mikuni carb sync tool came in. I threw it on my carbs and noticed that my throttle side carb was reading around 5 or so at idle. My clutch lever side carb was at 1 or 2. It was a big difference. So I figured let's check compression both side are at like 119&1/2 psi. Pulls hard but I was noticing a slight hick up around mid throttle don't know what could be up any advice. And I always noticed my throttle side exhaust always smoked more. 290 main jets Stock pilots Needle is last clip down

It doesn't do it all the time I actually started noticing one the engine revs up from a lug has a slight hick up. What could cause this and I noticed a little bit of a difference when I dropped the needle clip to the last position seem to wake it right up and barley bog what the next size up needle?

When I fist got the chain I was in between links now since I removed some material now I have perfect chain tension no more clicking the chain was over 100 bucks it's a good pro taper x ring.
