I have an extra oem stator, isnt ohming out and doesnt have a pick up coil on it. Not sure what its worth anything or if it can be brought back to life, not sure how that works. if anyone wants it let me know just shoot me an offer
I did some polishing with wet dry sand paper, started at like 500,800,1000,1500. Then cleaned with steel whool and polished with mothers. prolly cost more with material but turned out good and didnt take super long

rats nest is a good idea to check for, I had that same problem before when my stuff sat for a few years.
-do a leak down (pressure test) to make sure you dont have any air leaks
-then do a compression test to see where its at

I just retapped the threads today and ran a m10 1.5 in there and it works fine, will prolly hold up for a while. real tight.
