  1. Got the shock and it fits perfectly and is way better than stock. I also could not help myself and picked up a freshly rebuilt Works Stadium Series for the track. It is amazing how different the two are. The Elka is great for all around longer rides but in jumping and cornering there is no comparison. The Works shines.
  2. I'm too old to BS around so I will have some 28mm pwks tomorrow or Monday. I hope I made the right decision... those or 33s but I do jump and ride a track occasionally and I was convinced the 28s would give me a faster throttle response with sacrifice to the top where the bike currently screams with the stockers. I just can't stand those stock carbs. Maybe me, bad luck or a CR250 I had with the mikuni that was a pita to jett till I put on a pwk.
  3. Just bought a second banshee for my wife that has 30 oko carbs. I have stock carbs. I am dumbing hers down so I am installing another pair of stocks as well as jugs. It has been a complete tear down.I just got a dune play port back for me me and am thinking about installing these carbs but I see mixed reviews. I have a few sets of jetts for these carbs so that's not the issue. What do you think? Stick with stock or 30 oko? I have v force, pipes, port, 21cc domes 64.5mm pistons. I do have a set of 162 mains and 48 piolets for them. I am at sea level.
  4. Got in a bit of a rush and went this rout mainly for money and I did not want the season to be over before I received anything new.
  5. Got ahold of Eric at Elka today and he informed me that it is the exact same rear shock that they use on the Banshee. Kind of thought so. I did not think many would fork out the big bucks for the Warrior. Have not yet got it though..
  6. Don't have the Elka to measure but they seem to be the same...now you have me nervous. I photo shopped the elk pictures and the banshee stock pictures and when I line up the eyes, the exposed shaft seems to be the same length
  7. I lucked out I just bought a like new Elka Rear Stage 4 shock off a warrior. It is set up to my specs 180lbs aggressive trail for $250. Have not received it yet but photos look great. I already have stage 3 in the front. From what I measured I should not have any problems getting it to fit. same eye to eye as the stock banshee shock. Am I going to have any trouble? Thanks
  8. I doubt compression is your problem being that the two cylinders are so close and the bike starts. I used a cheap tester on a build and it read about what yours is reading. Used a buddys snap on and got around 130.
  9. I had a similar problem and it ended up being a leak in choke connecting tube between the two carbs. Put a new tube and the problem disappeared.

  11. Not sure what vapor was. I assumed it was water and was quick to type. I have never delt with a twin before other than a car but the more I think about it it could have been position of piston in the left side. i did not get a smell. New bike very curious. I am one not to leave things alone. Compression is 130psi and 128psi so we should be good for the season. She runs good now. I have a new reed cage and reeds coming, twin filters, TORS delete with screw and twist (thumb it too awkward for me), a few more jet sizes, tires. Its got pipes now (pro circuit) I will take the advice and wait for the season to come and go. Take it down and bend over. What else is recommended? I was thinking to advance timing?
  12. I have split cases on a cr80 and a rm60. This is a bigger job but I think I can, I think I can! Who can port them, and true and weld the crank? Would it be better to do that to a new crank? Without sticking me sideways?
  13. That makes sense, maybe sooner than later. I have only rode it twice for a very short time(got it yesterday) today it wants to stall at stop. I pulled the plugs and the left side has smoke coming from the plug hole.
  14. Not a big fan of the graphics but I have a like new set of black that's going on it awe file is too large
  15. On a phone no pics. What bolt on are you talking? I figured head about 250. Porting 400 Pistons 250 I do the labor. Am I way off? What size domes? Already has pipes and filter. Maybe mill the carbs?
  16. 1k On engine and fuel delivery to start. It also has k&n i see
  17. I have some money but not wanting to run race fuel. I am thinking 1k range total but not just on one piece.
  18. Hello to all! This looks like a great place! I just picked up a ridiculous clean 06 SP Banshee. Looks like it might have a few hours on it. It does have pro circuit pipes, jet kit and everything else cosmetically possible. This is my first quad in the last 10 years but I have been riding my piped ported Cr250r from hell so I am used to something a little faster. So my questions come. I see all kinds of mods and I do not want to waste money. I know a good port job is in order to wake her up but where would I be wasting money? Who's good at porting Banshees? I come to the experienced to keep from buying one:) Top end has never been done so now might be the time to take a look. What about 4+ timeing? Head domes or milling? Reed cages? Carbs etc It is for farm field and the beach. Not looking for top speed just more power. The tires on the rear are 18" stock is 20" Thanks to all in advance
