  1. Inline 6 cylinder, turbo charged diesels have been cooking #5 & #6 cylinders since they were invented. The cause is the cooling system. You've got fresh coolant coming in the front of the block that gets heated more and more the farther back in the block it gets. DI manual injection trucks from the 80's did it too. Usually they live a long time though. It's not a frequent failure. I've replaced dozens of #6 pistons and liners in Cummins 6BT's, IH 466's, Cummins 6CT's, and not touched any of the other cylinders. 2. What's emissions compliance? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. It's cheaper to delete and tune a 6.4 than it is to "bulletproof" a 6.0. Unless you can find an extremely cheap 6.0 Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. Exactly. This place basically "just didn't have time" to sell Tyler a brand new Jeep SRT8. Idk about you guys, but when someone walks through my door ready to spend 70k, I'm gonna do business. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. Lol. I just had to rub it in a bit. I know I sound gay for Ford but mine's been pretty good. I've thought about going to a Dodge cause they're nice as fuck but the local dealer sucks balls and my Ford dealer has been awesome. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. In a world of percentages there's also A LOT more Fords on the road than the other 2. So of course there's gonna be more repairs. The numbers are hard to sift through but Ford sold just shy of 800,000 F series pickups in 2015. GM sold 700,000 if you combine GMC and Chevy. Dodge sold 400,000. Now factor in commercial sales. Ford put another 500,000 on the road, just in commercial pickups (cab and chassis f350 through f550). Chevy and Dodge numbers in the commercial sector aren't even worth mentioning (less than 100,000 combined) although Dodge is trying to take some of Fords overwhelming market share. I'm not trying to take sides, I'm just saying of course you're going to see more Fords sitting in repair bays. There's damn near twice as many of them registered and on the road than any other brand. And as for Bennetts buddies with no issues out of their dmax's and cummins, he either a) has no buddies or they use their trucks for flower boxes in the front yard. 7. You do realize they haven't built a 6.0 since 07 and a 6.4 since '10? So I'm really not sure what brand new truck you're talking about. I'm all for new shit if you can afford it. Warranty is pretty neat. Anyone who buys something brand new and does a bunch of mods clearly doesn't give a fuck about warranty anyhow. We're having a conversation about trucks 10 years old or older. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. Because for $1200 you can have one with more power, better mileage, less bullshit, and way fewer problems than a new one. Just a guess. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. Ya I've considered a big single for mine. But mine hasn't given me any trouble and pulls anything I want. Not gonna fix what's not broke. I know mine has true twins but I think one is variable vane or maybe it is true VGT. Not totally sure. I used to be a GM guy but the last "real" job I had we had all Fords. 3 of them 6.0s, 2 were 7.3s and 1 was a V10. We had very little trouble with any of them. They've still got the 6.0s and they've all got well over 250k on stock parts and no major repairs whatsoever. I've got a 6.4 and I think I must be the 1 guy in the country that hasn't had trouble with it. I had an EGR cooler start leaking but had already bought the delete kit so I just put it on and went on about my business. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  10. Did the 11-15 6.7s have twin turbos? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  11. Damn. What year is it? I'm not gonna brag on mine. It's done good so far besides an EGR cooler and an up-pipe. Need the fucker to last until I buy a new one in '18.
  12. Here you go Green. Picture it with an aluminum flatbed. You can get one in black with a Lariat interior and it comes with the 6.7 diesel and 6 speed auto. Aluminum 22.5's that actually look good because its a big truck and tons of chrome options. Air or hydraulic brakes, standard exhaust brake. Out the door for 64k. And it comes standard with 5 year/250k powertrain warranty. Not that you'd use it enough to need it, but I would. Lol
  13. Skip to 1:27 to have all towing mirror questions answered. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HFhw6k-k0zA&feature=youtu.be Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  14. Lmao. Ya that too. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  15. My Ford has power mirrors that fold in with a simple push of a button. They made them like that so Ford owners can easily get through the drive thru to deposit their monies. Jussayin. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  16. Lol. Idk but it's very accurate and could be aimed at any kid in the region. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  17. Fuck ya they have a turbo. It says "turbo powa!!" right on top of the engine. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  18. By far, the most intelligent statement in this thread. I bought this thing a couple months ago for my hired guy to beat around in. I'm the 3rd owner. It was bought new by a local railroad contractor. I've got the service records since day one. It's on its 8th set of tires. It's had an alternator put on it. It's had the ball joints done once. And when I bought it I had upper control arm bushings put in it. I fucking love this thing. Got 15 mpg when I first got it and checked the other day it was right around 17. Gave $2,000 for it. Fuck a Cummins. Fuck a Powerstroke. Fuck a Duramax. Low cost of ownership ftw. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  19. Republic MO. Southwest of Springfield. Ozarks have been getting hammered. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. That was an aluminum, skirted CM flatbed. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  21. Green you oughta check out an IH Terrastar since you're into that medium duty sized shit. Crew cab 4x4 optioned out for 70k. Just priced one last week. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  22. Oh ya, Cummins has been an option/preference since the old F600's and 700's came out in the 80's. In fact I think the 12 valve 5.9 and 8.3 were the only diesel options besides a Cat 3208 or the rare Ford 8.8. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  23. It's the only option available right now besides the 6.7 powerstroke. Caterpillar quit selling on highway engines in 2010. Now you can only get them in Caterpillar trucks (which are re-stickered Internationals) Paccar engines only go in Pete or KW so they offer Cummins or Paccar as far as I know. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  24. You do realize Ford bought all of its diesel engines from International for 25 years or more right? The new 6.7 is actually the first Ford diesel to go in their pickups. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
