Going through my carbs since I did not know prior history. Did a total disassembly with removal of all jets and gallon cleaner submersion one carb at a time. Blew out all passages and reassembling them now. Quad is a stock '06 with only mods being FMF Gnarly's/ Turbine Core 2's and the 2-1 Y boot/ Uni filter with outerwear. Stock reeds too. Prior owner had 340 mains in it which I'm led to believe aren't genuine Mikuni as I do not see the symbol and the numbers on this jet are not solid but dotted. Has anyone seen that before? Pilots were 30's with unknown needles (look to be stainless?) with clip in 3rd position. It ran very rich. I've done lots of reading in the search archives here: most with a similar set up wound up with 290-310 on the mains, 27.5 or 30 on the pilots, and stock needles at 3rd/ middle clip. I'm planning to try 310 mains and new OEM needles at 3rd clip. My question is on the pilots- should I try the 27.5s or use the 30s as FMF recommends? What difference would I see there? Thanks for the help!

Lord have mercy! If you can't get that reduced or get out of it, refrain from doing business with them again. Are they legit with a business license? You ought to name the shop just as a heads up to members here.

I did go up one main jet size based on what Roger/ Wicked recommended. Bike had some other issues at that time so it may have been related to other things. Anyway- I'll try them on the 'shee at some point when carbs come off.

I have a set of VF4s bought for my 84 RZ350. The RZ bike actually runs better on Banshee reeds/ cages than w/ VF4s. Asking as I may try them in my Banshee. Thanks for the input and sorry for the 'jack OP.

Are VF4 good on a somewhat stock motored Banshee or are they best used for a more modified engine? See any noticeable gains on a close to stocker?

Search Temptest is a great way to find one and allows you to search all of the Craigslist sites based on a distance parameter. You should be able to find one in the specified range. I bought one for $2500 close to stock with some tasteful mods but was willing to travel and drove 900 miles round trip. Good luck!

Looking for a nice used set of Works (or equivalent) front shocks. I'm 220 lbs so need them to be valved for my size. Looking at the dual and triple rate Works shocks. May also consider a rear shock too if you make me a good package deal on all 3. Working on a budget so not looking for top line as my Banshee is trail ridden. Not looking for stockers. What'cha got??
