  1. 65 Mustang for sale

  2. ^ Can go back to your dog and pony show. I wasn't basing my purchase off of exhaust sound, was a legitimate question. Do any pipes sound different or do they all sound the same. Simple as that.
  3. What were the SS cylinders ported for? Bore size?
  4. Kind of disappointed my second set that came today are stamped. Although they are notably nicer then my unstampd Sent from the compound
  5. Welcome to BHQ! From North East... Vinita area here.
  6. Plenty of time to get my bike together... Only a 4 hour trip, Im damn sure gonna be there!!
  7. Frames not bent, rear grab bars only bolted on by 2 of 4 bolts and the 2 are loose-ish. Stem hoop was untouched.. only scratched from plastic rub. Only thing that had any wear was the underside, which is likely from rocks. I live near Disney/ Grand lake Oklahoma. Great wheelin/ rock crawling territory. Horrible for your sport atv. Kind of why I almost bought the 700xx, pretty much need the ground clearance. Fun to run the shell rock and hill climbs but fuck.. The rocks will kill low slung atvs. As far as extra tabs point them out.. I got it with the motor out and other then engine repair and appropriate mods. Everything else is pretty much straight forward, except the extra tabs.. that I don't know, are extra.. if that makes sense. Updates tomorrow. I painted the frame shit brown yesterday just to see if I could make myself like it.. not to shabby. Shits starting to trickle in.. Nothing that's going to make the bike move though. Ill get my cub head Friday. So theres a upside to bullet #2. Stay tuned.
  8. Finally got the pig apart and this was shoved where the rod melted down.
  9. It's all good Abe, much appreciated. I need to get it apart tomorrow cleaned up. Im also wondering is there anything better then stock for the water pump impeller? Hot coolant and plastics just doesn't seem like a good combo. I'd like to go ahead and get a gasket kit and bearings on order aswell. Any input on what to work with your 4 mil combo sprinklerman? Also wanting to know about cylinder porting? I've done several automotive heads. Nothing 2 cycle... Aswell as building the stroker I want to go ahead and build a " sleeper" .30 over stock stroke stock carb pump gas screamer. So any input on what not to do is appreciated.. not looking to hog them out.. just accentuate.
  10. Couple more hours on it today. Didn't have my bigger sockets for the impact to get the clutch basket off, anyone know what size it is exactly? Also what would cause the stator to burn up like this? Also, gotta love the idiot who decided he shouldn't rebuild the motor because e strippe every clutch case bolt! Gotem out, Definately going to need to replace them. Any other options out there besides Phillips head?
  11. Thanks Camatv! Awesome post and excellent points. I pretty much have.. nothing.. I believe theres some boyeson reeds in the bike. I pulled them and all I can find is a " B 1" on the side of them. Intake.. I think it was taken after the bike was blown, aswell as exhaust... I plan on going CPI. No billet basket, going to be buying brand new clutch setup after I get the motor together. Carbs are stock still with TORS, which at the least ill be removing them.. possibly upgrading later but taking care of the essentials is whats most important to me, if im down a few ponies due to a missing piece that wont bother me. I will get to it when the time is right. My friend has the leak down tester, aswell as the clymers*sp* manual. Sprinklermans setup comes with domes, no actual head.. I will be needing a head as mine is trashed. Any recommendations? Frames not bent, Ive enough experience straightening automotive frames and building backhalf/4 links that seeing the damage I had to break out the plumb bobs and see if she was in align, which she is... Just akward looking hole that was probably from rocks. Its reinforced and gusseted.. And honestly cant tell it ever happened. Front shocks are blown, rear seems okay. Either way they will all be getting replaced. A arms and balljoints are all actually great. Axle bearings spin good without a chain, will probably replace aswell. Again thanks loads for all of you guys help! Any and all further recommendations or must haves are much appreciated!
  12. I am, just buying an extra gear set.. to play with. Hell see if I even can. Just a tinkerer. Thanks though. Would you happen to know of any other good tranny mods other then the shift star mod?
  13. Sorry to thread jack. Im leaning towards CPI's.. And by sound difference.. I meant.. audible, tone.. pitch.. charactiristics.? Or do they all sound the same.. I can honestly say ive only heard 3 different exhaust systems recently to go off of.
  14. Nothing major but did get to put a couple hours in on it today. Majority time spent cleaning weld for some rock damage, Didn't get to power wash it.. But did find time to scratch around in it with a little paper. Tomorrow we degrease, rinse and repeat then disassemble further. Going to do it I sections so not to clutter my super messy shop up any further.
  15. Is there much sound difference between the schearers and cpi's. I'm in the market Aswell. Lots of wide open grass whoops, 2 to 3rd hill climbs and the occasional 1 mile trek on asphalt.. The tight stuff is no fun/ more dirt bike/mtb oriented
  16. Definately buying sprinklermans package deal, can't pass that up.. Aswell as giving a fellow okie some money towards going faster. With that said, I bought a windowed motor today. Standard cylinders.. I think just poor chain maintenance took it out. Either way I bought it for transmission parts. 1-4 overide/dunable. just to see how I'd like it. Will be buying a case and building this as a backup motor. Stay tuned, parts should start trickling in shortly.
  17. All other input is greatly accepted aswell, im almost positive this will not be the only banshee motor I build.. Not by a long shot..
  18. Ok, sending you a P.M Right now sprinklerman.
  19. So what is this about what needs to be done to a cylinder for the 4 mil rotating assembly? Ive read of running the spacer etc... Now, basicly what Im reading is telling me is.. The reason people send there heads out for port work is to... Change "port timing?" For the stroker crank? What if I don't do that? Will It still work? They also say the head needs milled... How much? And why? If I will be running a factory head... In my mind... That would raise compression and maybe put me into the realm of running race gas, which.. I do not want to do... If I cant run just a fresh set of cylinders ontop of a 4 mil crank without some special machining or.. "port work" I think Ill stay stock stroke.....
  20. Man you guys are on it, 10th digit is : W. Looks to be a 98, no real matter.. was just wondering. Once again, thanks tons!
  21. Ok, well how do I determine the year from the VIN? Going to trek through the snow to the shop and write it down.
