  1. Thanks for all the help! Ive learned a ton in the last three days lurking around. Plus all the quick reply's/ help makes it that much easier. Its almost frustrating to think Im just now getting around to a banshee. As it seems almost to.. easy to rebuild these things,I will soon find out. Only other question I have for the moment is how on earth do you tell what year it is... Havent found a tag on it, nor flpped it up to check the VIN. Block says something to the sort of "3GGC..." Either way, pretty good snow fall over the last 24hrs. So stuck here lurking and pestering you fellas with questions for the next day
  2. Also would like to keep it on pump gas.. Any reason not to? Only reason is its quite a drive from where I am at to our closest race gas distributor.
  3. Thanks for the offer sprinklerman... I really just feel like 90hp for the moment, is just way to damn much. Aswell as Id like to build the damn thing myself. Any reason not to go 4mil, stock head, .30 over cylinders with a mild porting? I feel like that's a goode base for me but what do I know...
  4. Thanks Sprinklerman. You've been a good bit of help. Is Titan the "mastermind/bees knees" of these particular modifications? Cheaper alternatives then what I see from them that are just as good?
  5. Total noob.. But what's a 421 serval? Wats something like that going to cost? And is it something I could do myself? I was going to do this rebuild.
  6. 3K was to include +2+1 control arms and accompanying component's .. Aswell as +2 swing arm.. I'm not exactly sure I could handle a 421 cub? Idk ? Why I figured start with a great foundation, can always yank the cylinders and head to do top end work and porting.. That's where the powers at, if i'm not mistaken...Correct? Wanting to go to LS* Little Sahara* this summer.. Don't exactly want to be left behind... But definitely would like something I could trail, wheelie my pasture air out and maybe a few drags. I had plenty of fun on a stockish one, just not wanting to build something I wont/ cant ride often.
  7. After some more studying and numbers crunching. I think I will be going with new cylinders, head, rotating assembly and accompanying gaskets and bearings. I would like to stay stockish.. But definately would love 15ish or so horsepower over stock.. As I think that's about where my buddies at. Feels about right for what I need. Seeing as how I almost bought a Honda TRX700XX just before I found this for 3K. I figure that will be my budget... 3K on the rebuild. Surely you guys can help me spend my money hahaha. Also I guess this will become the official build thread. Stay tuned!
  8. Seats no problem, my lady does upholstery. Just.. more worried about what to do really haha.
  9. when is BHQ at LS again?

  10. LOL Definitely... But its rather clean inside the casing.. No marks or anything. Is it safe to assume new rotating assembly and go? What about that beat to shit head and those rusty liners in the jugs? You can see how much liners left by the rust lines.. and I haven't micd the bores yet but wat do I know. Any and all help is much appreciated. Im in the NE Oklahoma area, 50 miles on up from Tulsa. FWIW
  11. Ok, going to try from I-phone.
  12. Image properties, nor my copy and paste function are working in the reply box. All other websites/ browser it is A okay..? Anyone having these issues? Trying to get these pictures up, ready to order parts!
  13. Having some weird issues linking my photobucket account... no copy paste function is working.
  14. Hello BHQ! New to the site, aswell as the banshee in general. More of a restoration/collision repair tech/ muscle car guy. Ive rode my buddies shee quite a bit, which is why I put the notion of if I ever get a quad it will be a banshee. I just recently did some bartering with another buddie.. Who had a neglected, tucked away banshee in the back of his shed he had acquired but had not got around to fixing.. So.. Some bartering, 400$ and a beer or two later I was the owner of a banshee! The restoration guy in me wants to strip it down further since the motors out and rebuild it better than new.. Im also hoping to have a reliable.. mid 40ish hp tinker toy.So.. any input.. comments.. or just what you think I really should do with what I got is appreciated!
