  1. I hear that very often, but I don't know what else is done.
  2. I bought it from a guy a year ago. Toomey T5s, he said something about rods but I don't know if it's a stroker...., stock carbs, airbox w/o lid w/ k&n, boyseen power reeds, .30 pistons he said. I haven't been in the motor yet so this is all off what the man told me. The banshee ran like a champ when I got it, but based on my muddy, wet conditions I had to get a airbox. & elevation: 818 , average temp: 70-75
  3. But based on what strm trpr said, I think I should go to a 30 pilot cause they're 2.5 out.
  4. No, you're not reading it right. I had 330 mains with aftermarket k&n pod airfilters. Then this winter I downgraded to a factory airbox without the lid and k&n stock filter. Being that it was winter, I decided to keep my jets the same until spring cause I hardly rode it during winter. Now it's spring time and warming up, I need to get it jetted properly. My current jets are 35 pilots and 330 mains. Air screws are 2.5 out and plugs are dark black. I just need to know if I need to change pilots. & I've already done a plug chop. I think I'm gonna start with 310s
  5. I downgraded around winter time from K&N pods to a factory airbox w/o lid. It was winter so I kept the same jets but now it's warming up and I was wondering if I would need to change my 35 pilot to a 27.5 along with decreasing my 330 main to maybe a 310 to start with.
  6. I believe so, when the fluid was drained it wasn't debris in it.
  7. It was leaking from the waterpump, i put on a new gasket an some permatex and it was fine. No more leaks. Yes, it's a stock head with a Vito's big bore head gasket. & I checked my other banshee & that was full to the top, and still no probs. I will do what Paul M suggested and get back.
  8. I topped off the radiator fluid in the radiator and filled the overflow to where is says "lower". I rode it for about 10-15 minutes and the radiator had lost a lot of fluid while the overflow gained a lot, just above "higher". What is causing this? I just did a rebuild by the way. & after that ride I also noticed some radiator fluid bubbling around the stud threads (#7,9) but there is no signs of leakage around the head gasket, I'm gonna take it to a shop to re-tap the holes and fix that stud problem but that doesn't explain why a lot of radiator fluid is moving to the overflow.
  9. I did the test and in 6 minutes it leaked half a psi. But at first the boost bottle was leaking bad, put hose clamps around it and it solved it.
  10. Do the side covers have to be off in order to leak check? Wouldn't I know I had a leak in the bottom end if I sprayed hot soapy water around the top end, and it didn't bubble? This is my first build so I'm new to this.
  11. Alright, i understand that I shouldn't have started the bike. I'm not going to again until these tests are done. I will get back after I do a leak down test. Thanks.
  12. Can the leak down tester be made? Or do I have to buy the $60 one. & it wasn't run long, because I only had one step left.
  13. After I started it up today and went through the gears at lower rpms like the book said, the plugs panned out to what the book said they should be. But it's also doing some crazy thing intermittently by cutting out like you're hitting the kill switch and catching itself again every once and a while, it died on me 2x but started back up. It happened while warming up sometimes on choke, while idling some, and once while I was finishing the break in by doing a bit of opening her up. I'm still gonna do the compression check and other things that you guys recommend.
  14. Alright, I'm going to do a compression check tomorrow. & so if the compression is good, I still need to leak check? & like I said I brought it blown in November and the Right plug was lean during disassembly. Thanks for the help.
  15. Should I check compression? I really hope it is just the air screw.
  16. I just finished a full rebuild on a 99 Shee' and when I was breaking it in, with a mixture of 16:1 from the book, I checked the plugs and the left one was fine but the right one had a little black place on it & the rest was white other than the sparker? The bike was seeming to run fine, smoking a little less on the right though, not much less. & I recall the right plug being lean when I disassembled it, could it be something I did wrong or is it a simple air screw fix? Help please!
  17. I'm using a spacer head gasket because of my 66.5mm wiseco pistons, so they done slap. Could the gasket. Be a problem too?
  18. I just rebuilt a 99 Shee' and I see that it is leaking a little coolant around the head, I used a Vito's racing gasket. There is a somewhat stripped stud (#5) that had some leaking but I see coolant all around the front of the head. Is this usual to see a little coolant around the head???
  19. How do you upload a picture on here? This might help someone solve my problem.
  20. Now that I have done more tests, I realized that the rubber grommets around my pro design boost bottle are ripped in places and when I spray carb cleaner on that, it went down. I think this is my problem? Anyone agree?
  21. I sprayed out the pilot and mains with carb cleaner. & yes I am running the TORS boxes but they are unhooked. I think I have figured it out though because the person who had it before me had obviously shripped some of the intake screws. I sprayed some carb cleaner around that area earlier and it revved up on both sides. I'll have to retread those stripped holes and see if that solves my problem . I'll post back when I do that.
  22. My banshee isn't idling correctly off half choke. When the rpms are coming down to idle, they high pitched and slow coming down. It's kind of hard to explain, but when it's on choke it idles and idles down perfectly. I really need help on this issue. I'm new to bansheehq. Thanks!
