Yes elka said they are 04 shocks and were for long travel a arms but someone on the honda forum said they are standard if they are 16 3/8 I have been trying to get a hold of matt to see if he can make them work for me but maybe he is out of town ?

Seller contacted me, I am not sure what they are, he claims he had a local shock guy set them up for his banshee and woods riding. They were originally built by elka for a 250r 200lb rider mx style they measure 16 3/8"

I called elka today and found out these shocks are not what they were listed as so they need to be sent back to the seller, I am waiting on the seller to respond.

bump, I might have to put the shock springs back to original position ? after doing some searches I guess it might be the way these work ? I plan to trail ride mostly.

I ended up turning the springs tighter for starters, every 5 turns I would gain about 5/8" I ended up turning it 15 turns and gained 2" but now is it too stiff ? The dial on the knobs is set at its highest point as well ( that is the way they came ) so what is a good starting point to set the knob at ? I purchased these for either my rator 660 or my banshee, I do not have the a arms yet for my banshee so I put them on the raptor. The a arms are alba arms and take ether a stock shock or a 17" shock, the stock length on a raptor is 15 3/4" and these shocks are 16 3/8" ( they were said to be 16.5 but I measure 16 3/8 ) I put them on the long travel side of the raptors alba arms Clearence on the quad with the stock shocks in the stock alba a arm location I had 12" under the center of the front of the frame, when I put these elka shocks on the long travel set up it sat at 8.5 " and with the 15 turns it now sits at 10.5 " The picture shows the shocks as I received them.

I am in need of a new clutch, I am new to the sport so is there anything else needed to purchase other then this kit ? I have a semi stock motor but hope to do more mods down the road. How do we get the discount ?

I purchased a used set of stage 3 shocks off here and I never had good shocks before and these seem like there is no pre load ? They drop about 3 " when sitting on the bikes own weight from the stock shock height is this the way these work ?

I do not understand what makes these a arms worh $300 more then the alba arms, they look the same, have the same type of ball joints, the only difference I see is these have the greese zerks. I have a set of alba that I purchased 3 weeks ago for my raptor. I wanted to get a set of these for my banshee but after seeing the close up picture you provided I think I will just get a set of alba for my banshee. I will have to take a picture and post it .

so even though we use weisco piston, their crank is not a good one then.

I have seen a couple different brands of 4mil cranks is there that much of a differnce ? I just seen a 4mil long rod weisco is it a good brand to get ? Just trying to snatch up some parts when I see them cheap.

It has pro circut pipes, I am slowly doing mods to it. Adding +2 arms and good shocks first, motor mods will follow, I got a fare price on a used chrome LSR so had to snatch it up. I have a 660 raptor I am fixing up as well, kind of tuff fixing 2 quads up at the same time.
