Do a search on Chicago Craigslist. There were a few for sale cheap on there. Don't know if they'd ship but it's worth a shot
  3. I go up to Black River Falls, WI quite a bit in the summer. It's 2-3 hours from the twin cities i think
  4. Wow, overheating in the middle of winter? Sounds like you have a few issues to work out.
  5. I called and talked to him once a few weeks ago when I was trying to decide between serval or stock cyls. I jsut dont want to waste his time until I'm rdy to send it out to him because I know he's swamped right now.
  6. So I'm getting parts ready to build a 4mil motor. I've dealt with Jeff at FAST a little bit so far and liked the service so I'll be sending it there. The reason I'm trying to get as much info on here first is because I know he's busy as hell and I don't want to bother him until I'm ready to send him my motor. I will be doing mostly trail riding but maybe play on the ice some in the winter. Since I'm doing my first build, I want to do it right so I'm not wanting more in the future. I bought a used case and jugs so I can still have a motor while my work is being done (and my motor had some ugly chain whack). I'm more concerned about doing this the right way than I am about how much I spend. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. I currently have: -VF2 Reeds -Stock case and jugs. -Stock Trans So I know I'm going to need alot of parts. I also want all bearings and seals replaced so I essentially have a completely new motor. I just need a rough idea of the budget so I know how much $ I need to save before calling Jeff. - 4mil Crank ($435) -Pistons ($175) -Gaskets($35) -Seals($45) -Timing Plate ($45) -Head ($235) -Trail Porting ($250) -Case Porting ($100) -Build($250) Total ($1570) So what all did I miss? I'll be watching the for sale thread on here for carbs and pipe. I currently have a 2-1 w/ PWK 38 and FMF Fatties (neither of which will be used on the new build)
  7. Tell the insurance you want it back, then sell it to me for $700 and make some extra $$
  8. when i got it the guy said it was 4mil, ported, and many other claims. already found out it was NOT +4 on the timing so I don't know what else is true or not. Once I rebuild it, it will be ported for sure.
  9. So I bought my banshee about a month ago. It supposedly has a 4mil in it but I haven't pulled it apart to check yet. I'm planning on rebuilding it since compression is 120-110. If it's not already a 4mil, it will be soon. I currently have some rusty ass FMF Fatties on it, I don't really care about the looks since I'll be trail riding in the mud alot. Just wondering if the fatties will be sufficient or I will need new pipes when I put it back together?

    Pipes and VF3

Looking for a decent deal on some VF3's and pipes. CPI or Shearer SB inframes
  15. Ran ok when I bought it. It originally had 32mm round slide Mikunis that were shit. One of the tops was stripped and the slide spun around and would stick open. That's y I picked up the cheap 2-1 w/ 38mm PWK. After putting on the new single carb is when it started running bad at WOT. This is why I'm guessing i has something to do with the jetting. And I know alot of people dont like the 2-1 intake setup. My plan is to ditch it when I build my cub, this is all just a temporary setup to get me thru this summer. P.S. Due to all of the current problems, the cub build may be getting ordered this Friday when I get paid...
  16. ok, tested coil and wires/caps. It all seems ok. could bad jetting be affecting this? It's not just the rpm's, it's the position of the throttle. Going roughly the same speed, 1/2 throttle is great, pulls super hard. But once I open it to WOT it has no power. I just want to get this going to have some fun this summer until I buy my serval
  17. Only put about 2 hours on mine since i did it, but it's working great so far...
  18. Do these actually ever go on sale? I just talked to Jeff @ F.A.S.T the other day about having him do a serval build for me this fall. But if they were to be on sale I'd jump on one right away...
  19. 10psi is a big difference? I guess I'm still learning about this stuff... I was hoping to be able to ride on this motor thru the summer and then send it to Jeff at F.A.S.T. for a full build this fall. Is it possible to just do a quick top end? ie rings and gaskets w/o honing the cylinders? I'm not trying to be cheap...just don't have much free time and want to ride instead of constantly working on it
  20. thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I wont be home until mon or tues to take a look at it, I've got a multimeter but never really did much as far as electrical diagnostics. Are there any how-to/info threads on testing this stuff? What kind of resistance should I be getting from my coils?
  21. i have a set of stock a arms that I just took of of my banshee. If you're interested PM me
  22. Sounds like your float is sticking. I'd try taking the bowl off and cleaning it out, make sure the float is moving freely.
  23. And something like that could only affect it at high rpms? At low-mid rpms it runs great
  24. How do I test the ignition? The probs are only at wot...
