  1. Well its been a while since an update, here are a few pictures, havnt had much time to work on it but we finally added some parts. Hope u enjoy more parts coming in this week we are ready to get this thing going!
  2. Ok, well I got into it a little more, I got it to idle for more then a minute then it died. I had to help it a little bit. Now that Iam home and paying attention it appears that its only running on the left cylinder Its burning the oil but the right side there is nothing and the oil is just running out the end cap, now im confused, why would it just stop running on the right side, I think thats why its dieing is because its only on that left cylinder. insight?
  3. After this happened I tried to get a quick run in and kill it I did the best I could and came up a little chocolate brown maybe a little wet but I dont think it was nearly enough to make this happen. I can try new plugs but not sure thats the issue. You say vents on the carb? There is no leaks, I sprayed carb clean with the bike ideling and no raise in rpm or anything. So I dont think there is a cracked boot or air getting in anywere.
  4. Here is my story. Went to sand mountain for the day after getting the 4mil running solid. When I first unloaded it got ready, started it up, let it warm up a bit then took off to the hill. First pass was solid. Had great power. Pulled very strong. For about 15 minutes I was messing around with no problems, as I was heading back to the truck the bike just died, like it was out of fuel. Wierd but o well, fired it back up, revved alright and drove the rest of the way to the truck. Well ever since that the bike will only start up and run for about 15-20 seconds an then die, wait 2 minutes fire it back up an so on an so on. I started with carbs, made sure floats wernt sticking, they were ok, cleaned them out. Tried again and did the same thing. The only thing I might be onto is that it is an elevation change of about 2-2200 ft but when I got back home tonight I tried again and the same thing. Can anyone lead me in the right direction, Im running sunoco race fuel, 40:1 mix, new spark plugs, and cleaned air filters.

  15. Looks good, showed her the picture, she loved it. Took the rest of the parts to get powder coated today, should have frame, and hubs back on monday and rest of the other stuff by wed/thurs. Ordering up bunch of other stuff so maybe next weekend this thing can be going back together? Quick question, anyone sell a complete new bolt kit for these?
  16. Got mine today, bought mine from a company called ASI. They sell hoses and all kinds of stuff, nice product I think, welds are pretty good and looks built pretty good, real test when its mounted and running. Did not come from china, took 3 days to get to my house, everything was in english no chinese.
  17. Well, the frame is taking alot longer then I expected. Hoping by the end of the week I get it back and we cant start putting parts on, the parts keep arriving but we cant do anything without a frame banghead We have all a-arm bushings new rotors, shock bushings, front and rear braided brake lines, new rear swingarm with all new bushings and bearings with new chain slider, new axle with lock nut, carrier powder coated black with new bearings and seals, hubs are getting powder coated to match the frame, new rotor, new sprockets, new chain, new radiator (polished), clutch cover (polished), and a couple other items. I was also pushed to make sure and mention she did all the polishing on the cover and radiator. Not to bad (might need to add some elbow grease to a couple spots when shes not looking). Coming together, like I said im not to happy with the length of time the frame is taking but hey, gives me time to get parts together I guess. Here are some pictures of the rad an cover Planning on tearing into the motor tomorrow night, clutch kit, and adjustable timing plate. Hope you guys enjoy!
  18. WOW..thought this thread was over "I too, have done several sets. I did the first set back in 2004 for my buddy. He's 380lbs, on stock arms. No issues to speak of. All the balljoints are still tight and working great. You have to orient the arm right so the nylon melts, and re-sets itself in the right way. I had to cut open a set of stock arms to find out exactly how to build the rack for the oven. Also, protip. Nylon-6, which is what is used in the balljoints, melts at 420*F. Whether it be Nylon-11 (365F), Nylon-6.6 (490F), or Nylon-6 (420F), I've never used a powder that requires higher temps than 350. I'm sure there are some out there, but I've never used any. With that being said, I'd never powder a set of arms with questionable balljoints, but I've done it several times with success. This is good information right here. If thats the case then the stock a-arms should be ok, I would just have to assure the powder guy that the oven doesnt exceed 400*F or ask to see what the required temp. is for the specific powder and base my decision off that. Thanks everyone!
  19. Also interested in pictrue of everything. I would be interested.
