  1. How many hrs on the topend? Pm me a price on topend without head
  2. Here is the picture of the bike. Like I said once the motor is tore down I'll take pictures of cylinders and crank. If I don't have any bites I'll just keep them on my shelf for backup
  3. yeah cutting the wires did help a bit ... I got a new coil plugs and wires sitting in the box , im working in tx now when i get home ill throw it on and do another plug chop.. I think im pretty close with the 160 mains, maybe a tad rich but a safe.
  4. Serval says it in the topic. That's not a stock cylinder
  5. get 35 pwk .. i run airstrikers your choice but go 35s you will thank me later... my bike has a dune port bottom end seems the same as stock carbs ... but the mid and top end rips! pulls forever, doesn't run out of fuel like the stockers! ..
  6. Been doing some searching looks like I'll prob go 18cc domes. With straight 110. I'll do a compression test once I get the motor all put together. I may try +7 on the timing, I'll prob call Jeff (fast) see what he thinks also. I need to get all my gaskets and stuff from him anyway
  7. yeah i was either going to do redline or mm for the override... whats your thoughts on the timing and the cc domes ? wish i had the doe for a cub right now id just go that route, but i just bought the wife that new yfz 450 and ive sunk some money in it also.. think a lockup will be needed for this setup? and paul cylinders are already ported.
  8. Also I'll be running a 9 paddle hauler and stock gearing. Let me know if u think I should change gearing or anything like that
  9. welp finally got my bike dialed in! Awhile back i stripped the drain bolt, i took it to a dealer and had them do a helicoil and its worked fine untill now. I drained my trans oil to get he bike all prepped for ls and the helicoil came out with the bolt! ! fuck it im tired of messing with it, i have a set of mint cases sitting on my bench i just bought im thinking of tearing my motor down and throwing all my stuff in those cases... figured while im at it might as well go with a n down 1-5 duneable overide.. figured id replace the shift forks while im at it .. How reliable is this override going to be? seems like it would be ok for the riding i do , mostly sand. also was thinking of bumping up the compression and going with vp110 race fuel , maybe adding a little more timeing. hoping somone would chime in and help me out on this setup, i want to get the most out of my stock cylinder stock stroke. setup to date is -new true and welded hot rods crank - fast cool head with 20cc domes (what domes would be good for vp110?) - billet clutch basket brand new - aggressive dune port done by fast - billet water impeller - pancake bearing - shift shaft mod- +4 timing on adjustable plate (should i even mess with the timing?) - also was thinking of going with a lock up clutch? - cases were port matched but looks like im going to trash them!. thats about all i can think of right now , i just wanted some thought on what other ppl think i could do to push my stock stroke to the edge I have been looking at alky but the run time turns me away from it . Im just looking for a solid good running bike to mess around in the dunes and do a drag race every now and then. o forgot im running 35 airstrikers right now for carbs.
  10. so i choped the end of the wire and replaced the boot... took it for a spin down the road seems to pull a lot better, just so happens found a coil for sale last night on craigslist went and picked it up just to see if its really the coil. this morning i replaced the coil with the one i bought and it pulls a hell of a lot better, i know im now way rich with the 170 main and needle on middle clip .. bike doesnt rip like i did with the 160s but it pulls with no cutting out what so ever and revs all the way out in 6th.. Ill throw the 160s back in and do another plug chop and post up results.. thanks ..
  11. caps are new.. i replaced them when i rebuild the bike. bike has about 4 tanks threw it since rebuild.. its had a known spark problem, but thought i a had it fixed . the only thing old is the coil and wires. it has spark at idle but seems to start cutting up around 1/2- full throttle. its deff not a jetting issue ive covered all the bases with that.
  12. Ok I'll cut the end off the wire tomorrow and try it again. If it doesn't work I'll just buy a new coil wires and all
  13. I'll give that a shot tomorrow. So what do u think about the 160 mains? On the cylinder with good spark it looks spot on
  14. Ok nailed it it's a spark problem either plug/ wire or coil. These plugs are with a 160main then 170 main. Notice how the problem moves from right plug to left. I swapped plug wires and problem moved to other cylinder. So now I need to buy a new coil plugs and wires.
  15. Same result. Tore everything off pipes carbs. Did leakdown test all good held 5-6 psi for good 5 mins or so. Threw in 160 mains needle on middle clip, ran a plug chop its deff lean. I'll have to run out and get some more main jets tomorrow.
  16. ran like a mad ape till 6th about had it revved out but started cutting up a little pulled in clutch and killed it, pulled plugs and chopped them... i cleaned carbs resync them and ill try it again tomorrow. if i get the same result im headed to the hardware store to put together a leakdown tester.. then up the mains maybe to a 160.
  17. not sure on 900 el... somewhere around that i believe .. im in kansas city mo... running 35 airstrikers, motor is in sig, stock stroke aggressive dune port stock cylinder. im running a 152 main.. i cleaned my carbs and sync them using jeff's carb tool... maybe the right cylinder main was plugged? idk its a bit too late here to fire the bike up again but ill get around to it tomorrow.. ill post back results... im running 9s because thats what jeff recommended.. motor is pretty much fresh only 4 tanks ran threw it, brand new hot rods crank... i did install a billet intake and new carbs this is my first plug chop since i installed them, i used yamahabond on the boots so should be ok on leaks... i need to get around to making a leak down tester, but i did do the old carb cleaner spray on the carb boots and intake while the bike was running no change in idle.
  18. Ok here's a pic of my plug chop haven't been rode since winter. Broke left cylinder plug in vice trying to chop threads o well. Anyway left cylinder looks on, nice line on the bottom. Right cylinder has no color at base and weird color near tip.
