  1. OK..... interesting is a nice way to put it!
  2. Willing to separate? Interested in the Head only. Thanks, Tim
  3. Thats makes sense. Im actually going to bring back pod filters with the pre-filter sock thingy. Yeah there is plenty of dust here. Thanks, Tim
  4. Thanks for the advice Larry. Your right about the Aerosol.... Not really necessary, as there are some basic stuff available here, like chail lube/cleaner. Same goes for the mix oil. I will definitely take some loctite back over here. Tim
  5. Im new here, and Im an American Living iin Saudi Arabia for work. I have a new 2009 Banshee, and Ive learned a lot here already. I am coming back to the US for a short Vacation at the end of the month, and I need to come up with a packing list of stuff to bring back over here with me. Parts, and tool and etc. are harder to come by over here. They just don't have anything like a neighborhood Auto Zone if I need Loctite. I dodn't have my garage full of tools here like I do in my home back in Florida, so I will be binging a tool kit back with me, and here is the rest of the stuff I plan on bringing back, please feel fre to give me some pointers on what I might need to add to the list. Banshee Service manual New set of pipes/jetting/filters (upgrading my shee) New set of A Arms/Shocks/rear hub extenders bringing my rear shock over to get revalved Adjustable timing plate (flywheel puller) Bring my head over to get reworked/milled New head Gasket? 170 piece tool kit I guess a 3/8th and 1/4 inch TQ wrench. grease gun (any specific recommendations?) Loctite (what color?) possibly if I can get my motorcycle/ATV lift in a small enough box to bring it over Any other recommendations???? Thanks! Tim 2009 Banshee stage zero
  6. Thanks to everyone for their replies. I think I am going to just mill and re chamber the stock head and see how I like it. I will save a cool head for the next round of mods, should I see the need to upgrade again in the future. Tim 2009 Banshee stage zero
  7. Im about to get Exhaust, filters, timing plate and re-jet my new banshee. Should I include a cool head in the package? How much more power will I be able to get? What size domes for a 91 pump gas bike at sea level? Thanks, Tim
  8. Yeah.... I guess I was actually calling a plus 4 a plus 2. I get the idea, widen the front by 4, also widen the rear by four (any good recommendations for axles?). I think I will stay at stock swing arm length for now, and just make the bike wider and better at handling bumps. Thanks for the advise! Tim
  9. Thats is exactly what Im planning. I might just bite the bullet and get the Elka shocks and plus 2 A Arms while Im at it. I wonder if I might as well shave the head too while Im at it?
  10. I went to the dealer and he gave me a kit. Yeah junk... but I paid for the bike, and it's good to have something in there.
  11. Is there supposed to be one on my brand new banshee? Thanks, Tim
  12. Um... Plus what is a good size axle for a plus 2 front setup (I guess plus 2 as well?) And where do I get a good one? Thanks! Tim
  13. Hello I just got a new Banshee (2009). Im here in Saudi Arabia (I work here... Im from USA). I really don't care for the narrow track of the banshee, and Ive pretty much decided on the Stellar A arms (+2 inches wider per side.. I guess with 1 inch forward?) and I guess a 4 inch wider rear axle? I need shock advise....I ride trails/dunes, and plenty of bumps. I need to to soak up bumps a bit. I weigh 200 LBs, and while I do not race... I am a bit aggressive. I was thinking of just getting a nice set of front shocks, and upgrading the rear later if necessary, as my time and budget allow. (or possibly just revalve the rear shock). The fronts really need improvement. Tell me what you think would be a good upgrade. I guess I will need longer front brake lines with this upgrade as well? Thanks, Tim Larsen
  14. Thanks for the welcome Special Ed (Ha!) - I will just stick to the basic bolt-ons. I have a couple questions- Can I do the +4 degrees timing plate on just pump premium gas? Same question for the milled head or cool head (pump gas OK with that, and whats the difference between the 2? I will make sure to properly jet, and will look here to this forum for pointers ion the re-jetting when I upgrade. I will check out the Klotz as well. One last question- Are the graphics on you Shee the stock graphics? I like the old school looking yamaha graphics like on yours, and my shee has OK graphics, I just prefer the old school ones I guess. Where could I get ones like that, do you thing they would look good on my red Shee? Thanks again! Tim 2009 Banshee
  15. Thanks for the welcome and the pointers MJM. Ok I will forget the single carb idea. Im a newb, so bare with me! There doesn't seem to be a banshee newb forum, or a bolt on mod stickey like Ive seen on other forums....at least people are friendly here and didn't just yell at me and tell me to use the search feature. I will look into the TORS elim and some pipes and filter/re-jetting. I will try to get some pics ASAP.
  16. Sounds like a fast machine! Its so cool that now we have a celebrity here??!! You might want to not use your real name beebs???
  17. Sounds good... I was checkin out the pre mix thread. I will use Yama lube until I can get some Amsoil (it will take a while).
  18. Thanks Larry! Pick it up today.... I read somewhere 20:1 is the 2 stroke oil to premium fuel mix, what is that like a half liter per tank? Tim 09 Banshee
  19. Im picking up a new leftover 2009 Banshee tomorrow. (they still sell them here in the Middle East... not sure about the US?). Anyways, any pointers for a Banshee Newb? I haven't owned a 2 stroke isince I was a kid, so Im basically learing from sctratch. Im thinking about a pipe, filter, and rejet eventually, but now I just want to get to know the bike as it is. Im here at Sea Level, so I guess the stock setup should be good for a while? Are the basic bolt-on mods a good starting upgrade when I decide to do so? Is converting to a single carb setup worth while? I will be new to re-jetting, but not afraid to learn the process, and Ive turned wrenches quite a bit on previous motorcycles and cars. Any Vendor sell staged upgrade packages? Anyways, thanks in advance for any advise. I plan on doing a lot of reading here to learn about these machines. Tim 09 Banshee Saudi (Im from US)
